Comment:

A good and knowledgeable scatter brained man. The value of this class is the stories that he supplies that you cannot get out of a text book. The class is easy, if you can't get an easy A you don't need to be in college, and if you dont like his tests, well, you aren't going to graduate college.

If you cant take and pass his class just drop out of college and go back to vo-tech or beauty school. His essays are take home (if you dont like writing essays there are many good Junior Colleges that will gladly give you an Associates degree), and the ID's are just somthing you better get used to if your a histroy major. Are you people serious? I had the man twice and he's crazy...come on!!!! Whatever, you don't have to actually go to class and it is possible to pass. The only other thing that I am going to say is it's unfair that I didn't wait to take the class until he retired! He has the tendency to loose papers but he allows assignments late..

Dr. Dougan is the greatest professor ever. He will help you if you have a problem and understands that you have other classes besides his. He will help you with not only his class, but other classes as ell. He knows EVERYTHING! You're the best Dr. Dougan, Don't retire!!!

Dougan is awesome. He's an eccentric, but in a good way. The tests are easy folks. It's half take home essays and half id's -- and you get a study guide for those for crying out loud. If you actually study for the test for a few hours you'll do well. Lots of papers but they are easy too.

I hate this man, he is becoming more and more the route of all evil this semester. He assigns too many papers, his test essay questions are WAY too hard, and he dresses like a Christmas elf. If you enjoy long, boring lectures about random stuff, take his class. Otherwise, take it at another school. You'll probably be using his textbook though.

Comment:

Boasts about being a long standing member of the communist party. Finds reason to belittle the Christian faith and makes durogatory remarks about Republicans as often as possible. He is very knowledgeable and when he sticks to teaching Ark History, he is a very good teacher. Way too much busy work: 20 (3-5) page essays.

He is a very intelligent man, but he is odd!! He knows alot about History, but tends to push his own opinion. You CAN'T take notes, he is too hard to follow. He is very entertaining though. He is a mixture of Mr. Rogers and Barney Fife.

Dougan's class was horrible. It's all lecture, no writing on board, outline, or anything. The worst thing is trying to sift through his lecture. He strays from the topic to whatever enters his head. Everything graded in there is subjective. Essays and i.d. prargraphs. His mood affects grading.

Insane. I could not handle his crazy lectures. He'd go from talking about buzzards, to his dead mother, to moon pies, then to history. I did not enjoy his class, but then again, I took it at 8 am. He is very helpful though.
