Most boring person ever. Avoid at all cost. Even though I got a good grade the course was very dull and too much effort.

He genuinely cares about students and helps clarify any confusion, but he is simply not meant for teaching. His lectures are pretty dull and just reads off the slides. Tests don't resemble material in lecture that closely, so make sure you read the textbook. I would say avoid, but he's the only one teaching chem 2030 for the past decade (or longer

He is overall a good professor. Despite his lectures being long and boring, he is always happy to take time to answer questions before, during, and after lectures. He is very approachable and is quite specific as to what is expected on tests. His slides are clean and summarize main points very efficiently. Would definitely recommend him.

he's not the best professor but he's testing is really easy if you are a good self-study-er you could easily get an A. he is very nice and caring but honestly of much of a teacher.

Overall a good teacher. Make sure to study from the textbook, slideshows and past tests. Tests are difficult, be prepared to study. Class was not an easy A.

The lectures can seem long at times and drag on. He uploads the powerpoints so missing class once in a while is not a big deal. The midterms are not overly hard especially if you do the textbook questions. He always answers emails if you need help. He is good at explaining the material so even though attendance is not mandatory it is beneficial.

Classes are long and boring. He uploads slides but takes a lot of the material out, so you need to use the textbook to get accurate notes if you don't go to class. He either goes really fast or really slow, so sometimes even if you go to class you need the textbook to complete notes. Tests are pretty easy if you study. Go over old tests.

Hempstead is not the most interesting prof in York for Chem. Pretty boring, tbh. He uploaded his lectures online so I didnt really go to class. Do the past tests and know how to do each question. Use textbook for practice problems but honestly, it doesnt even matter as long as you do past tests. Easy A. Takes 2/3 tests, so 30% each.

Frankly speaking, half of these people want a performer and Prof 'Stead is not one at all. A bit boring, yes, repeats the slides, yes, but does he uploads the slides? you bet. Most ppl dont understand his style, more than giving new info hes guiding you along what YOU should study at home, so just go to class & u SHOULD end up with easy B+ or more.

He offers nothing to the lectures - he just repeats what's in the slides. Therefore, going to lecture isn't mandatory, as you can read the textbook at your own leisure. Plus the slides he posts are quite succinct. His tests are on the easier side. In the published past quizzes across all sections, his questions are the most straight forward.

Dr. Hempstead is extremely clear in his expectations and it is very easy to get an A provided you study. He records his lectures so you don't have to go to class. This actually really helped because I could work in the mornings instead. His slides are concise and clear. Honestly a very easy course with a little effort. Plus he is very approachable.

This prof if awful, TA's are worse. Got a mark taken off because I was off by 0.01... Asks nit-picky questions about the textbook material, and literally told me that in order to do well, I needed to memorize everything in it. AVOID!

Good lecturer, but that's about where the compliments end. Do yourself a favour and keep your head down in class and work hard and avoid ever having to interact with him at all costs. An A+ is very possible if you understand the concepts beyond just being able to do formulaic problems.
