I do not recommend taking any class taught by this professor. Not only does he still use an over head projector but he also does not update marks (until the final week of school), does not give our rubrics not assignment sheets and does not upload ANY content onto D2L. He is up close and makes you feel stupid in class as well. Set up for failure!

Attendance is mandatory and his exams can be very difficult. However, I found him to be a great prof. He would come to the lectures with the mindset of equipping us with the life skills needed in order to succeed. He has a strong emphasis on participation and although unnerving at first, it really does improve your speaking skills and confidence.

This professor really irked me. He preaches about innovation and yet he still uses an overhead to teach. He NEVER posts on D2L (go to class for your notes), is VERY up in your face in lectures, when he asks a question and you don't know the answer he will make you feel stupid, and is too picky about projects.

He's actually not as bad as I expected. He talks a lot about Trump. He doesn't post anything on D2L so you have to go to class to take notes. His textbook is a reader with a compilation of articles from various years, no joke one of the articles was dated in the 90's. Pick your group members wisely, the group essay is a grade booster.

Terrible with technology so you have to attend class to get notes because he does not post them or use powerpoints. Emails are so hard to decode. Amazing speaker Easy marker for papers His midterms and exams are terrible, they are very specific to detail of the material. Midterm and finals is basically 70% reader and 30% notes.

Although his lectures, notes, tests, and emails are a lot like decoding a cipher, he is a very inspiring speaker. It's tough getting a good grade, his instructions are unclear, but all technical school stuff aside he is very interesting to listen to.

He's too old-school. He does try to give students a realistic picture of the sad hosp industry though. Also, he picks on people a lot- I have social anxiety and I skipped his classes because he made me uneasy, which resulted in me not getting his stupid notes and consequently not doing as well as I should have

Proff Michael Hunter is probably one of my favorite HTM proff's! He is difficult to get used to at first since he doesn't use technology at all but once you adjust to the change you are set. Know the readings for test and beware of some of the above but not all of the above questions.

The worst thing about this professor is that he gets in your face and it's incredibly rude. He also tries to interact with EVERY SINGLE STUDENT, and some students were not fond of that approach. No Blackboard, and uses over head projector. On a positive note, whatever notes you take is what you should study. Do not recommend.

Doesn't use blackboard so you have to go to class to get any notes. All his lectures are straight from articles that are completely outdated. Has a clear view of what he wants the assignments to be about but will not help you out when you ask. The textbook is hundreds of articles bound together.

Attend class. He is not too great with technology so nothing is on Blackboard, check your emails. I find his tests quite fair, just read the reader and read the question making deductions always works best for his tests. Nice person, try having a conversation. He talks about application of your knowledge in the real world.

Very interesting class & loved his teaching method. Hard essay marker and exams can be tricky BUT if you attend every class, make good notes & read the book you will do well! Not a difficult class to get an A in. GO TO CLASS! he doesn't provide anything online.

This man is brilliant! I haven't taken a course at RU since 2009, but I still remember everything Hunter taught me! Yes, the courses he teaches are challenging. But, he teaches you how to use your brain and to think about what's really going on in the world of Hospitality & Tourism. Attend class, listen, take notes and do workbook summaries..

Read the course reader and take good notes in class to get a higher grade. Don't really have to memorize just understand the concept. Trick to MCs avoid 90% of the time all the "some but not all" questions.

I used to have Hunter back in 2002 and 2003. After reading some of the comments i have to say they are bang on. Hard marker, strongly opinionated and his favorite topics were A)The Apprentice and "the Donald" with his trademark phrase"your fired" B) Bang & Olufsen and how great they are followed by his trademark phrase" you get what's you pay for"

"I wakeup every morning excited to go to work" this prof is amazing because he is so passionate about what he teaches he puts in so much effort and is always well prepared for class! Yes he is very hard but I'd rather learn a lot and get a bad mark from an amazing prof than learn nothing at all! I got a B- in HTT303 and an A in HTR741.

Best professor ever! Can keep my attention span throughout the full 3hour lectures!! May not be an easy marker and tests aren't always easy. Make sure to do the readings and attend all classes in order to get a decent grade.
