PROF MCD is the bomb! Has a great lecture voice and sense of humor when teaching about heavy concepts such as end of life wishes and other bioethical issues. Excellent film list, I would watch the movies even if not for class, and will re watch a few when I have time. Highly recommend, but be ready to read/ write. He is very fair w/ xtra credit

He is very passionate about the subject. He assigns one quiz and three forums for chapter readings. There are various easy film forums as well. He is very knowledgeable about the subject and is respectful of all different viewpoints. He is a very engaging lecturer and funny.

A bit soft-spoken, but does a really great job explaining concepts and answering questions through use of examples. He's got an uncanny skill of arguing both sides of an argument. Assignments included online discussions, watching videos that illustrate ethical dilemmas, and 2-3 essays based on the readings. Definitely will need the textbook.

Took this class as part of the ABSN program at CSUSM. He does a great job taking both sides of an argument, using examples to demonstrate concepts, and answers questions. Assignments include online discussion, watching videos that demonstrate ethical issues, and papers based on the readings. Definitely will need the textbook.

One quiz (20%), four 2-pg essays (20% x 4), one 4-pg essay (50%) & online video discussions (50%). Excellent professor, mostly lectures with little encouraged class participation; most discusssion is via online forum > watching assigned videos. Tough subject matter and writing assignments can be difficult but great learning experience. No finals!

Great teacher, come to class to understand concepts. Attendance is part of the grade. Participate, but don't give opinions, necessarily, stick to the facts or else it becomes a poli-sci class. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable!

ABSN extended learning professor. Only Quiz was 20Qs with 10T/F & 10 matching - relatively straight forward. So far, find the writing exercises more challenging as they require knowledge then application of concepts. Eg. A-state issues, B-summarize, C-Identify & articulate key issues, D-Connect readings to previous readings & E-Case study analysis.

ABSN ext learning instructor with a unique grading system. Reading Ex (4 x 20pts), case study analysis (50pts), vocab test (20pts) & online discussions (50 pts). Use a spreadsheet to allocate reading exercise assignments. Also use Cougar courses. Like it that there is only one exam. Tests application of knowledge instead.

Prof. McDuffie is definitely one of the best professors that I've had. He takes a very sensitive subject matter and approaches it very well -- explaining both sides thoroughly and allowing us to pick our own opinions. He is very concerned about your grades and is quick to e-mail back as well as work with you to achieve the best grade possible.

Very enthusiastic about the material presented in class. Probably the reason why I was so interested in this particular course. I very much enjoyed his lectures and appreciated his patience and effectiveness with the communication of the material. Be prepared for a mental strain and the occasional brain cramp.
