Comment:

Because of the class I took with him, I decided to change my major to English. Lectures are long but usually very interesting as he cares about the material being read in class. Told stories quite a lot and was pretty funny. If you weren't interested in the class, he wouldn't help you but if you were involved he would give awesome feedback.

Comment:

Definitely intense with his grammar, but other than that an easy going class. He's a funny, adorable old man, and he has extremely bushy eyebrows. He often tells a lot of stories and finds ways to get the class involved in discussion even when hesitant. Overall, I enjoyed the class.

His lectures were sometimes unorganized and he would talk about unrelated things but hang in there because overall, this class was quite easy if you put some effort in! He requires handwritten notes and a first draft for every essay, and if you actually those in it's an easy way to boost your mark!!! I would recommend this class!

Although the topic of this class was very interesting and relevant, it felt although this professor would rather hear his own voice than debate. It felt like the only thing he wanted the essays/exam to mirror was his own opinion. His marking was fair. Perhaps it was the 3 hr length of the class or the fact I dislike English but I found it torture.

This professor wants students' thinking to be like his own. He obviously forgot that literature (novels) is not like maths where 2x2 is equal four and no compromise here. Dear prof. literature is an open issue for imaginations. Just leave your idaes to high school students.

I don't know how a person who teaches high school student can teach university students at the same time. I found his teaching boring and useless. He also stereotyped regarding international students. so dear foreinger avoid that type.

I liked this guy. He was pretty ccol, and we got to read Life of Pi, which was great. I know this was a first year class, but having to hand in notes and a HAND-WRITTEN rough copy. I'm sorry, leave that for your high school kids Mike.

This prof has a standardized marking scheme, he tells you what he expects and gives you an outline. I wish more profs were this objective and not so subjective when marking papers. Class is relaxed but goes at a moderate speed. Novel choices not long and dry. I would recommend this prof for english.
