Professor Schuyler is by far the best English professor in CSI. I struggled with the papers, first English paper I received a C, he does nip tuck every single thing however i boosted the paper grades up to a B+ because HE HELPS YOU OUT!! Lots of reading, the booksplays in my opinion are really good texts. if you have a chance, take this class!

Professor Schuyler, while one of the most honest and well-read professors at CSI, is perhaps the toughest professor to please at this campus. He knows what he wants, and if you don't give it, you will regret it. Missing class is not an option, and not reading will leave you in the dust, fast. While I've dropped his class, I would take him again.

Quite possibly THE hardest english class I've ever taken. Not because hte professor was hard, oh no he was quite enjoyable and fun to be with, cracked jokes but demanded a lot. That demand was what made me hate the class as well as the textbook selection ABSOLUTELY HORRID.

One of the best professors I had in my academic career. I always struggled with writing, grammar and spelling. When I entered his class I didn't know the difference between there, their and they're. Today I was returned a 30 page, APA formatted, research paper that earned 99.25. There is no way I would be graduating this May if it wasn't for him.

He's tough but one great professor. Get the books and read them, you need them. I thought I was going to get an A but he nit-picks papers so much, I got the 3rd highest in the class. I would take his class again definitely.

He's a bit pompous and arrogant, and a very tough grader, but he's a hell of a professor. He's good at conveying what he's looking for in a paper, and gives you feedback on each of your papers by speaking to you one-on-one. Take his advice, apply it to your writing, and you'll get an A. You'll become a better writer after taking his class

He's awesome. He acts arrogant, but if you are willing to actually try, he's more than willing to help you out. Really helped improve my writing and if you are an English major and you are complaining he didn't just hand you an A for poor writing that's your own fault.

He is a very smart man and knows his stuff but loves himself too much and i believe he is lazy with the way he teaches after the first day he makes each student get up in front of the class for each class until the end of the semester and hes a hard grader on papers will not read them if it isnt long enough by far the worst professor ive ever had

I had him and he was absolutely AMAZING. You must go to class to know whats going on and he takes attendance very seriously. Yes he is strict about his papers. He loves when you participate because it shows you understand the subject matter. His feedback is extremely helpful! If you want a professor that wants to help, take him!

Great professor. Makes class interesting while still teaching well. His job is his passion and it shows. He didnt make us write a paper until six weeks in to the class. He grades on how well you use his tactics. Not how well you can write. so if you think you write well but follow none of his guidelines you wont be getting a decent grade.

Dr. Schuyler is great. Only english teacher to ever give useful feedback. He weeds out the punks the first day of class. He is beyond brilliant. Anyone who wants to learn how to write should take him. Three weeks in his course were more helpful then every english class prior. He is strict but with the right people his class is always fun. No Punks!

Must say one of the best professors I ever had. I took his class in the summer (3 weeks), while working FT, and the course load was tough;however, this proves he teaches to standand not time. Highly recommended. Also, YOU make the class interesting. Participation is a must

Basically he seems very brilliant. Sometimes tries to be funny but does not work. He definetly picks his favorites in the class. Very harsh at grading and if your papers are perfect but not under his guidelines then its an F. If your paper is less one line then he said it should be then he does not even read it and its an F. Wouldn't consider him.

he was reallly a great teacher, but incredibly strict, if u don't follow his rules he wont bother with you. i wrote him a paper 2sentences short of 4pages and he gave it an F without even reading it, other than being a strict grader, he's actually a brilliant professor and you'll learn a lot in his class.

Phenomenal professor! He is brilliant, hysterically funny, and made me not only enjoy his class, but strive to do well. My writing skills have dramatically improved. I'm a lazy person and he was the only professor who has been able to push me to get my work handed in on time. I highly recommend him! There needs to be more professors just like him!

I'm actually quite speechless about this teacher. He is extremely cocky and arrogant but overall he is okay. He is quite helpful and will not easily complement your writing. He is blunt yet fair when it comes to grading your papers. He will have you jump over the moon if thats what it takes to reach his standards. Hate him but love him.

I think this profesoor is very strict yet fair. Although he gave me the only C+ I ever received, he taught me hot to write and that writing the word "I" in an essay is really not as bad as many think. Also, sadly enough, I accredit him with teaching me the rules of the comma. Be prepared to work, yet have fun.
