Comment:

Very disappointed to see the number of poor reviews of Dr. Eskritt. If you attend lectures, do the readings, and ask relevant questions, you will have no trouble with her. She even offered to give extensions on the final take home exam, no questions asked. I would definitely recommend her as a professor.

Comment:

It was a mistake to stay in this class, I really regret not dropping it when i had the chance. Little did i realize this professor is an extrmely hard marker and i found this class very difficult and hard to understand. i usually get Bs and As but not in this course, which is a pity. You can study as hard as you want but won't get past a 70!

I have mixed reviews. Michelle is very engaged and familiar with her subjects, and sets the bar high for performance. I like a prof that challenges you, as it's uncomfortable but at least you learn. I found the "lots of work for small grade %'s" to be a pain. My impression is that she's a no-nonsense kind of woman, but is clear and prepared!

Comment:

Absolutely loved Dr. Eskritt. She was a very helpful mentor and felt like my big sister. You have to attend class and keep on top of reading but I was left with the impression that she genuinely cared for her students (except for the slackers that show up late or skimp on their reading.)

great lectures, prof is a great lectures, good examples, clear, understandable, easy to talk to, textbook is easy to understand. however the labs, weekly quizzes and take home exam are not to be taken lightly, they are not easy at all, and you will need to take your time doing them, take as many class notes as possible!!

Seems easy going at first but don't be fooled! Her testing is not in line with her lectures. There were questions on the final that had not been taught in the class nor mentioned in the textbook. Expects more effort from students than she is willing to give to teaching. Make sure to write down every comment she makes you will be tested on it!

Very hard marker. Her final take home exam took over six hours to complete and I still only got a 66. This is not an average grade for me as I usually recieve 80's-90's. Her labs are confusing and she does not do her best to explain them or the technology you have to use to complete them. Overall, I am not very impressed with her.

In all fairness, I couldn't studied more, but she's an extremely tough marker. She told our class the class average for the midterm is usually around 55%. Also, she's very picky on APA with papers. BUT - if you go and talk to her, she will help you. I found out the hard way, so take this advice!

Not the worst but is very dull. Teaching is not her strong suit but I think she tries to be useful. Unlike Perrott and Delaney she is always on time and returns email. Don't get me started on Perrott and Delaney

I liked Eskritt, very helpful if you go to her and ask. She helped me a lot when i emailed her and got back to me quickly. However, she does seem a bit disinterrested in the material, and I found the lectures a bit vague and 2-dimentional. Overall nice person, I got an A - with not too much effort.

She is one of the worst professors I have taken a class from. No matter how much you study, you will find her test incredibly hard. She is not approachable, asks students for their opinions, and then puts them down. Definetly one of the worst profs I have encountered. She should not be teaching.

Her classes could be boring at times.Many of her notes are right from the book. I suppose that she may seem unapproachable, but when I have approached her I had no problems! The lab reports are easy and I did really well on the first midterm but found the second very hard and confusing. Now am a little worried for the final, LOTS of material!
