Comment:

I had Dr. Nearon twice, for Fluid Mechanics (MEC 364) and MEC 320. She's great at making hard concepts, easy to understand, and she was always helpful during office hours. Truly, one of the best (if not, the best) instructors in the MEC department. It's unfortunate that she's leaving Stony Brook at the end of this semester.

Comment:

The way the course is taught is pretty boring, she makes you copy all her notes by hand and refuses to post homework solutions. However, if you do your homework and understand it, you'll do fine in the class. Most people who fail this course are the lazy ones. She's also very helpful during office hours and is usually around.

I've met some VERY horrendous professors in the Mech. Department. However, Prof. Nearon is a great exception from them! She's always available when you need help, and she makes fluid mechanics easy to understand. You don't need the book AT ALL, since her notes, alone, are great to study from. She doesn't curve, but has a fair grading system.

She's extremely proficient in making concepts clear and understandable, 364 (fluid dynamics) was one of my favorite subjects thus far, she posts the homeworks outside the lecture hall in light engineering, if anyone can make THAT material easy... theyre gold! on top of it all she's very friendly and helpful, speaking to her is like talking to one of your fellow classmates... not to mention she's kinda cute.
