Comment:

Thurlow is a great teacher, when she's teaching. She tends to get off subject fairly easily, making her lectures long and boring. She knows what she's talking about but a lot of what she says doesn't pertain to what we are suppose to learn. Hard marker for essays. She has no rubic so it's hard to write any kind of essay. Will provide feedback.

She needs to breathe. she walks into class sets up, and talks constantly. I personally think she is very nervous being in front of people so she keeps talking as a coping mechanism. The plays chosen where interesting enough but you will tend to tune out what she is saying because she will read two sentences then explain a simple concept.

Hilarious prof. Always uses relevant examples to prove her points e.g. "Are you blind, or did a stupid person dress you?" She marks pretty hard and doesn't give much feedback unless personally approached, but her class is really enjoyable and she created a profound interest for literature within me.

Such a great prof. She has a great sense of human, has wonderful analogies to help students understand and is quite approachable. Tests aren't too hard either. She has a wonderful personality and was easily my favourite prof. Sad to hear she was leaving :(

Worst prof I have ever had. She seems to have a chip on her shoulder concerning undergrads. Useless, doesnt give any helpful feed back on essays or any advise for writing them. Told us that an outstanding mark in her class is a 73...

Interesting...It's amazing, the woman does not stop talking...its definitely an amazing talent that very few can pull off...the tests are hard but it is important that you pay attention to the history of English that she talks about...she likes to make her tests more like history than english...overall pretty good...make sure pay attention tho

Sometimes you question if you are in the wrong class, (religious studies) but all in all very entertaining. Impossible to fall asleep in her class because of witty personality and her halarious opinions and examples. Definately a good class to take to get through the first year of english.

the class was fine, and i got an 82 with min effort, but if your'e looking to major in english then look elsewhere. you learn nothing about structuring a paper and for the "major essay" one outside source was required. sparksnotes was considered an acceptable outside source.

I loved her English class last year! She rules! Very interesting class (P.O.D. played in class, talking about the Simpson and stuff). Very down to earth, easily approachable. Likes to talk. Basically gives you what to write for your essays during class, so pay attention and you will do fine. Got an 80 in her class. She told me to switch my major.

Very funny. IF you are looking for an interesting prof she is it! Me and her have had awesome conversations so far. Makes you think about things more in depth. Her class is lots of fun. Describes herself as "crazy woman in the attic". LOve her!

I wonder if there is any piece of literature that she likes,she takes apart everything the class reads,she forces her opinion on the class. If she can take apart the most wonderful pieces of literature then she can easily take apart ur essay(bad marks)
