Comment:
The org lab is muuuch more laid back than the borderline-inappropriately difficult gen chem labs. Daoust is nice and available for help, and I also found the TAs to be much more relaxed and helpful. The labs are pretty clear, and if you need help, ask--he and the TAs are all willing to help.

Mike's really nice. The org labs are much more laid-back than other chem labs you might take. Music plays throughout the lab period. A piece of advice, the lab questions start off easy and get much more time-consuming as the semester goes on.

He's super cool, understands what it's like to be a student and stressed to the max. Gives great lab tips too.

He is very nice when speaking to the whole lab and will help individuals with their problems. With that said, he does tend to have a mean streak. This comes out in his lab questions which are based on the vaguest details of the lab manual. He should definately consider testing us on what we actually did in the lab.

Jovial to a large group, a huge jerk one on one. Knows chemistry reasonably well, isn't nice about it though. If he is stressed or angry, the pretense of funny nice guy drops fast and he takes it out on you. Napoleon complex hard.

He knows his stuff for this course and has a loot of experience (clear from his pre-labs)! He is funny sometimes hehe... 'Can I have everybody's attention for a secoond'. However sometimes I feel he is not ALWAYS helpful and answers questions superficially. But all in all a good professor!

Mike Daoust is a good lab coordinator overall. His lab exam questions can be difficult -- you have to review all the labs carefully, and ASK QUESTIONS about everything that you don't completely understand the reason for in an experiment. He's very entertaining in his pre-lab presentations, and a sarcastic but approachable guy overall.

Yes, he does his job... I like his lab lectures over the TAs who basically can't TA. Overall it's fair, which is a rarity. Lab exams can bite you in the butt so study for them!

Really nice guy. Gets to know as many students as he can, of the hundreds that he deals with every week. Know what he needs to know to run the lab, not much more but never seems unhappy when you ask him for help.

If you have taken his org I before, you see that in org II he will use the SAME DAMN JOKES! And he is quite crabby and unhelpful a lot of the times.

How can you rate this guy?? Besides being a complete moron, he doesn't know the FIRST thing about chemistry! Go on, ask him a question not explicitly addressed in your lab books and see for yourselves!
