The worst teacher I have ever taken. From the first day of class, if you struggled at all with the material; he encouraged you to drop the class. Clearly did not care about his job. Was extremely inappropriate as far as interacting with the students, on one occasion made fun of a students weight. AVOID MCCANN AT ALL COSTS!

Funny guy and can keep the class laughing, but he doesn't go over the material too well. He got caught up in talking about himself and his life a lot. He would make a lot of mistakes while teaching us. And he puts problems on the test that are much harder than we practiced so no one knows how to do them! He also stands in front of the board!

I think this guy smoked bongloads before class everyday thats why he was so good at making sense of the material. Highly highly recommended. If you got a good grade during a 6 week 281 course then you must be taking the class a second time due to your first 281 teacher's substandard instruction or you made necessary sacrifices to get it done :)

Was impressed by Mike's ability to clarify the textbook so well.He broke down the material very well for a 6 week class.First teacher that helped me make sense of proofs. He takes time to warm up sometimes but he knows his stuff and actually demonstrates mathematical skills. Wish he taught the afternoon spring 09 course would've saved me some time

Prof. McCann is a great teacher! You have to be willing to spend a lot of time OUTSIDE of class learning the material because it's hard. If you don't do the homework, you will fail. He seems a little scatter brained when teaching in class but outside of class if you need something explained, he knows exactly what he's talking about.

This is by far the worst teacher i've had. He avoides going over the harder problems and makes tons of mistakes on the board. He doesnt show his class how to work through all the different problems you'll see. Heinstead wastes vauluble class time trying to get you to guess what should be done on the random problems he decides to go over.

Mike is one of the most involved instructors I have ever had. If you need help day or night he is happy to help. He really wants you to know the subject. If you do the homework and pay attention to the lecture, his tests are an easy A. If you don't do the homework or pay attention, you might as well drop the class.

This professor is extremely scatterbrained and seemed to forget what he was doing a lot. He would tell us one thing and then tell us something completely different 10 min later. I struggle with math and class was very hard to pass. If you do well on the tests, Im sure you will do fine but they are pretty difficult. Worst math class I have ever taken.

BEST TEACHER EVER! I have never gotten an A in math but he made it very easy to understand and took the time to explain anything that was unclear. I would definitely take another class from him and recommend it to anyone!!!

great - the guy is willing to spend time teaching outside of class. great. WHAT ABOUT TEACHING IN CLASS!!!!!!! coming to class is worthless - hes easily side tracked, speaks and writes in a confusing manner - that is if he shows up prepared at all. he is, bar none, the worst math teacher i have ever had.

He is a little difficult to understand but very willing to work with students. He gives exctra credit for well done homework. He will revise your grade on a test if you show him that you had some idea of what you did. Interesting and animated.

Self-taught class. Lectures are meaningless and his grading unclear. Used solution manual to solve the math problems and could not explain how he arrived to the solution. The tests contained problems that were worth a fourth of the test grade so if you miss it YOU ARE SCREWED! Overall, among the WORST teachers I've had. SAVE YOURSELF!!!
