@Review made on 01/03/2018, He already explained that he does it with multiple choice only because all the standardized tests for CFA designation is in multiple choice format as well. To be honest, Michael McIntyre is a very smart prof. I think it's insane that people can do poorly in his class when people are so boosted with a free 10%+ freebie.

Final was worth 60% which wouldn't be too horrible if it weren't for the fact that it consisted of 30 multiple choice questions with no part marks. Dropped a full letter grade thanks to the final.

Mike Mcintyre gets a bad rap on here but he is a great prof. Truly cares about finance and teaches the material in a way that you cannot get from the textbook. He also uses real life examples to explain things which are super beneficial. Definitely one of my favourite profs and I never have spoken to him once.

You need to be a self-starter to do well in his class, he does a good job exploring and introducing topics in class, and expects students to be prepared and drive the learning and discussion to the next level. I enjoyed his class, and the parts I still remember are the areas we explored in class and discovered the nuances and details myself.

He seems like a nice guy but he is an awful prof. He has no idea how to teach an intro to finance class and expects everyone in the class to know what he's saying. He doesn't use any slides and just writes on the board very messy and confusing. Avoid Mike and take Erin Oldford's class she is very helpful.

Good guy, bad prof. Teaches the most generic things in class and then asks for the most specific things in assignments and tests.

He's a nice guy, but not the best professor. I felt like I was expected to know everything beforehand, but being a second year BCom student there's only so much you can teach yourself before class. Over 75% of the class got under 60 on the midterm long answer part which was 75% of the midterm weight. If you can, take someone else!

Really friendly guy who tends to go off on tangents occasionally. If you're a finance major and are into hearing about the industry more he is extremely knowledgeable. Expects students to have more of an understanding of material than they probably already have, so be prepared to read and you must to practive problems to succeed

One of the worst Professors I have ever had, he doesn't teach very well at all even though he has an excellent understanding of finance himself. For an introductory class, he did not do a very good job at explaining key material and should definitely take more time doing examples all the way through... he definitely has time in his 3 hour lectures

Although he is very knowledgeable and has had a lot of experience, he is not a good professor at all. He lacks the ability to explain even the simplest concepts and seems to believe that all the student's have studied finance before. The textbook is far better at explaining the course material and the exam was overly difficult.

Michael McIntyre is a nice guy. Unfortunately, that's not what is needed to pass this class. Uses Microsoft Excel to showcase examples which is just demonic really. A lot of independent reading is necessary. The midterm and final were MCQ which was not fair. I am convinced he is of the Devil. Avoid him. I'm telling you because I care.

A prime example of an extremely intelligent and knowledgeable person that can't teach. Constantly uses terminology that very few students understand. Goes off on tangents. Great guy if you're thinking about having an out of class discussion on course material, but I wouldn't put my academic future in his hands.

Once you understand where he is coming from, you'll feel like you're part of an elite club with access to the gardens of Eden, bathing in rafaello. Absolutely, hands down the most important class in Finance. This class splits your life path into two - pitiful nothingness transforms into a holistic life understanding. God-like aura when speaking.

Because of the way the class was reclassified I ended up only having 10 people in my class with Mike and he was absolutely amazing. He was very engaging with the students and knowledgeable about the subject. There were a lot three presentations and a take home final but Mike was not a tough marker at all and everyone enjoyed his class.

He's a brilliant man. He knows so much about the world and business, and he is more than willing to share his experience with you. Not necessarily the best for teaching the course material, but he teaches you so much more than what is on the course outline!! :) and if you do have questions he's always more than willing to clarify things.
