Comment:
Moland was very accessible outside of class, either through email or in person. He respects the students that try and apply concepts to real life situations, as he often aims to do that in his lectures. He consistently clarified material in an applicable way. He gives exam reviews out very far in advance, but his exams are challenging.

I love Dr. Mike, he is very sincere in teaching his classes. I admire his sincereity, he almost teared up once in class after he read an email from a profile psychologist. he is the best. Do the credits surveys, also attend his classes, and don't talk in class for God's sake.

Mike is a funny dude. For the first few lectures I didn't think so, but he fills his lectures with terrible dad jokes. Even his exam questions are hilarious. Due to schedule overlap I did not attend any of his lectures second semester, but it is possible to get a decent grade without going to class using the lecture slides online and textbook.

He provided no extra help when asked, assignments and tests were not straight forward and it seemed like he did not want you to pass. I would not recommend this professor and I would not take a class from him again.

This prof thinks he's hilarious but actually really inappropriate with this 'jokes'. 3 hour lectures only offer a 70-80 minute lecture on the textbook material, 10 minute break, a video (every week) lasting up to an hour, and dismissal by 9:30pm. His lectures offer nothing more than what's in the textbook. Very disengaging and discouraging.

I have to say I have taken 4/5 classes with Dr Moland and I do find that he cares if the students are understanding his Material; he is very approachable (through email) and has always be prompt to get back to me. Dr Moland has been very fair in his marking. I would highly recommend taken a class with him; and email him if needed clarification.

Moland is one of the few professors I have had with an actual personality. He makes attending his lectures enjoyable! His tests are kind of hard but he doesn't try to trick you.

When I see Mike is teaching a class, I'll take it. They may not be super easy classes, but there are no surprises. Do the work and get a great mark. Simple as that.

Mike is a great professor...I've taken a few of this classes. Really funny and gives good examples to help explain concepts. Exams are long and challenging but if you go to class (he shows videos and asks about them on exams) and read the textbook you'll be ok. Recommend.

Moland is a hard ass and his tests can be tricky (just because they are so long), but there are plenty of opportunities for bonus marks. He deserves respect as he will stay after class until midnight to help you. Great prof but DO THE READING. (intro to psych)

Drugs & Behaviour class was the hardest class I have ever taken! If you do take it, read the textbook thoroughly and do all of the weekly postings! This course will make you cry. Mike is a hilarious and great professor, however his online courses are lacking and it's as if he's not even there. Take his classes on campus & you will not regret it.

I also took Social Psych with Moland and it was also online. He is a great prof and is always there to answer your questions. His exams are appropriately difficult but if you've done the readings and understand the material, they're a breeze, especially once you're accustomed to his test style. He's a fantastic prof!

He never really explained anything. Basically he tells you what to read and make you watch some boring videos. Make sure you are attentive and take notes. His test are so hard and he does not provide any lectures notes or anything. I know its an online class but still..

Mike was a great professor with hilarious stories to help explain concepts. The only thing that future students should be aware of is that they have to read the textbook to do well on his tests.

Mike is a great professor for a first year course! He is funny, but still manages to get the information across clearly. He uses slides, and there is information on these but I suggest using his slides, lectures, and textbook material to make your notes. The test can be a shocker, make sure you read the text - he doesn't cover everything in class!

Decent prof, relies too heavily on humour. Tests and assignments can have confusing wording but are generally fair and fairly marked
