It is clear he enjoys lecturing. Soc of the Fam can be frustrating b/c I do not feel I learn much, just hear two sides of debates. His exams are 3 equal parts; multiple choice, short paragraph, and 1 essay. Easy to get a B of C on these exams, not so much an A. Tests are all 20% and one 20% research paper. Tests are NOT accumulative.

Very interesting professor. Keeps lectures interesting. He is a medical sociologist and it shows in this course. Recommended course if taken by him. Study the books and you'll do well.

A very cool professor and I enjoyed my class with him immensely last year. He's a good man and does try to make class interesting and is open to discussion/opposing view points. I wish I could have found a 2000 level course with him this year :(

Amazing prof. By far the best professor I have had so far. The only lecture I actually wanted to go to. Really fun, and used some hilarious quotes referring to "gangster rap". Make sure to read the text book. Plus you can cancel out your worst test mark.

Dr. Wahn is by far one of the best professors that this school has. He makes class beyond interesting..his lectures are great! He teaches things relevant to your everyday life, which makes this class so great. Tests are fair and easy if you go to class and know your readings. Wahn made me LOVE sociolgoy after other profs had turned me off!

If you do not like a lot of reading, this course is probably not for you. Unlike some other classes, it is impossible not to do them all as they make up 50% of the exam questions. Overall, this was a well taught class even though he has some pretty strong biases that come out loud and clear.
