I was excited to take this course but ended up being very disappointed. While the professor seemed passionate about what she was teaching, she would go off topic every class. There was a lot of current politics discussion that was completely unnecessary to the topic that was suppose to be taught. Unfortunately I learned little from this class.

Honestly, one of the most inspiring professors i've ever had. Very intelligent woman, which creates a thirst for knowledge for her students. Yes, it may be a lot of reading, by the books I read were amazing, and it was hard to put them down (and im using the student who lives off of sparknotes). Her lectures are inspiring. My favorite class yet.

Great teacher. A lot of reading though, and also a lot of essay writing. She grades leniently, so its not too bad. Attendance is a large part of your grade. Lectures were very interesting and engaging, and crash course US history is pretty entertaining.

As others have said, Dr. Carson is a great professor. She is technically challenged and sometimes forgetful, which almost always ends up in the students favor. I loved this class because she is so knowledgeable and passionate about the material. One warning, she docks your final grade by 2 pts every absence over 2, so an A could quickly drop to a B

Very sweet lady. She gave out interesting readings and brought in many guest speakers, who played music for us. My biggest complaint about the class was its lack of structure. I wish that there was structure instead of jumping on different topics. Other than that, make sure to put in effort, show up to lectures, and she will give you a good grade.

Look, this class was great. I loved the information, but I'm the kind of person who needs structure from a professor. She is the most unorganized professor I've ever had. Sweetest lady, and knows her stuff, but if the class is having to ask if the due dates in the syllabus are correct in week 5 (they weren't), there's a problem.

Fun class from a delightful human being! She's passionate, well meaning, articulate and talented. If you get a chance, check out her blog and photographs. Dr. Carson is another community treasure at OSU. Take her class and enjoy it for all it is and also for all she is. A rare opportunity for inpiration, being led and learning through her example.

Pretty interesting class. Mina is a hoot and very funny! Not the most organized person and goes off on tangents but she means well. You're graded on reading responses (5 of them), 2 500 word essays, 1 1,000 word final paper and a very informal group presentation. I would take this class again! Easy upper division history class.

I really liked this professor but I found her lectures really bland. She took attendance every day and then lectured us on stuff that was mostly not on the tests. The books were good and all the tests and essays were online. You can take tests over and over until you get a good grade. She's a little scattered but she knows her stuff.

So EASY! All you ever do is watch movies, each and every day... a couple of really easy papers and a presentation and you get an A. No tests and lots of extra-credit! Plus, the lectures are always films, so its also interesting! Don't buy the books, you'll never use them!

I loved the subject but her lectures were useless! I was being paid to take notes for a student with a disability and I had almost nothing to write down because she's so random! I guess she's an okay prof if you want an easy grade, but I was looking for some actual informati8on.

Watch films everyday. The papers are a breeze. Have really great presenters in class. And even though classes are mandatory, they are fun! Don't have to do reading, if you can, like me, write the papers by skimming. Easy grader too! Overall, GREAT class for bacc core!!!

Great Teacher, Great person. I love bumping into her in town or on campus, she is by far one of the sweetest, nicest proffessors I have ever known. She is also passionate about US history, and provides and interesting perspective. A bit scatterbrained, but really nice.
