I took 4 classes that were taught by him, college algebra, pre-calc, calc 1, and calc 2. Old school teacher gives you a lot of homework. I spent so many hours outside of class to do homework, preview , and review the material. Thanks to him, I got my confidence in Math and I even became a math tutor at the school recommended by him. Great teacher.

Professor Zhang's classes are challenging but rewarding. He explains concepts thoroughly, so if you take notes, you should get an A. He not only explains the how of math, he explains the why.

Comment:

Prof. Zhang was incredibly thorough. He assigned a decent amount of homework, but it's pretty manageable in my opinion. Tests could be difficult in that they used the material that was taught in unique waysi.e. actual problem-solving skills needed to be applied in order to do well on the tests. I would seriously recommend any of his classes.

Best math Professor at the school. Extremely thorough explanations when deriving a formula and is able to give as many alternate explanations as is needed. Can break any problem down to it's most basic parts and make it crystal clear how you can go about solving it. Anybody who enjoys or takes even a slight interest in math will enjoy this prof.

Good teacher, gives short breaks between long sessions, goes through lessons very fast but with enough time to clearly explain them. Don't be like me and save your weeks worth of homework for the night before its due, or you will suffer 4-6 hours of tedium. Also, slightly confusing accent.

This class was not easy, but I think he definitely threw me a bone because I ended up with an A- after I got less than a B on two big exams. Pop quizzes, definitely should do the homework though it's long and he doesn't check it. He's a great guy with a funny accent. Cares about what he's teaching, cares about students. Would take again.

This was my second time taking algebra ... First time was my carelessness. Prof Zhang was the worst professor I have ever had. He was hard to comprehend, got irritated when asked for help, got angry because I had a sick child and had to leave class early, his solution is for you to go to the tutoring center. Stay away!!

If you're good at math you're all set, if you're not he will do all that he can to help you out but there is a little bit of a language barrier. Just do you're homework and ask plenty of questions if you don't understand everything and you'll do well enough.

If you're good at math, then you will have no problem, but if you're not the best math student, then don't take this over summer. You have seven tests, and that's it-- your grade is your grade. In professor Zhangs words, "Study at least 30 hours outside homework and class... Even God cannot help you pass." Just be a good mathematician.

He was nice and funny, but if anyone needed to ask a question he didn't seem like he wanted to help and got all grumpy about it. His accent was hard to follow sometimes. He rushed trough the examples on the board so it was VERY confusing to follow and understand especially if you suck at math....

Great Professor! At first he is a bit hard to understand, it gets better after the first class. He lets you retake tests whenever you get the chance and he gives alot of partial credit when grading tests. I definitly will be taking another class with him. He's got a good sense of humor too!

This professor is awesome! I stink at algebra and I have a 96% out of 100% average so far! That to me says it all! He even rescheduled our final for the convenience of our class! In the beginning, it was hard understanding his heavy accent, however it became easy very quickly. I highly recommend this professor!
