Time consuming class. It is a cases class, so there is a lot of work for each week. Had to present multiple cases. Must be familiar with cases when you get to class because he calls on everyone. Great class overall.

This is the way MBA courses should be taught. It is a challenge from day one. I learned more in this class than any other class I have taken at VCU. He is by far the most difficult professor I have run into in the program, but I think this is why I learned so much. If you want to learn a lot then take Mitch, but be ready to work very hard.

All the rumors are true - it is a lot of work with little upfront instruction. For the most part you (and your group members) teach yourself. However, what you're not hearing is how awesome this course is in terms of material learned and what a sense of accomplishment it is to complete a case. Wish more of the program was like this class.

This cases course is a true MBA class. The material is challenging and Hoffman does a good job instructing the case study method. The course is a lot of work but I learned alot from Mitch.

Mitch is a nice guy and knows alot about Finance. FIRE 621 is extremely difficult in the summer term, expect to spend 10-15 hours in case work and another 2-4 hours in text reading, each week. He is very hard to reach out of class but is willing to help. I highly recommend Mitch.

He is abo****ely the most BORING teacher I have ever had! He is very monotone, so if you want to have a teacher that sounds ALIVE, do not take him. He does have 25 cats that he will tell you about and that's probably about the only LIVE thing that you will get out of his class! Oh and he says: "Mmmmm...k" like 8,000,000 times. haha!

Very dull and boring. Seems to know his stuff but has a hard time teaching it! Throws too much stuff in to each class session. Tests are hard but if you do homework, you have a chance. Final is cumulative so you have to remember everything for the entire semester. Oh, and he has 25 cats that he will tell you about!!

Difficult, thorough tests. Alot of material covered for each of the 3 tests. Hard to follow at times, I learned more from book than him. No homework, takes attendance. You can get away with buying a book thats an edition old than the costly one on sylabus.

DO NOT TAKE HIM! The first two ratings are wrong, probably put in by hoffman or his wife...this dude is weird, monotone and unclear...possible to pass if he like u and make sure u show up to class on the dot otherwise ur absent...avoid him!
