I enjoyed my class with MJ. Shes undoubtably knowledgable in her field, and an entertaining lecturer and genuine person to boot. I had a few frustrations throughout the semester. The field trips were costly, total tickets approached $200+, not including travel to Stratford(twice) and Toronto. Occasionally the class could be disorganized.

I had Professor Kidnie for my first year English class and she was incredible. Her lively personality made lectures fun. She said hi to me and called me by name before I had even met her, because she had taken the time to memorize the class list in advance. Make sure to take advantage of her office hours, as I found this helped with essays.

MJ is 100% hands down the best professor I have ever had. She's so energetic, and clearly loves her subject. Don't be surprised if she yells during important moments of the lesson, stands on desks, or roars with laughter. Overall she's a very engaging prof, and is able to keep your attentionmake you interested in every lesson. Take her class.

M.J. is one of the best profs I've had during my three years of my English degree. She is passionate and incredibly intelligent, and she genuinely wants her students to enjoy her class and do well in it. She marks fair, but expects you to do your work - but I wouldn't expect anything less. I'd take any class just to have her as a prof again!

Prof. Kidnie has a great attitude and tremendous amount of energy when conducting classes. However, she often gives herself too much to say and not enough time to say it and virtually steamrolls through the class, ignoring student comments and leaving you utterly exhausted by the end. She also thinks a great deal of her OWN opinion.

My favourite professor for 2nd year! I was not expecting to enjoy this class, but her teaching style and personality is so infectious! She will get to know you and call on you in class, but if you have done the reading you should be okay. An absolute delight to learn from! Very fair at giving grades.

This class was such a great learning experience. MJ's passion for Shakespeare definitely rubs off on you. I did find her personality and way of teaching to be intimidating, but that's just how she gets you involved in the class. This class is definitely worth taking; you can tell how much effort she puts into her great lectures.

Overbearing in the extreme. I doubt that she realizes how intimidating her teaching style, but she's downright asphyxiating and never shuts up. If you make it through one of her seminars, you'll feel like you just ran a marathon. She does her best to narrow the parameters for discussion and box you in. Not a very fun atmosphere, to say the least.

You might feel like a deer caught in the headlights when you have no clue what to say, but don't worry--every student in the class will experience that. She is just fantastic. One of the best profs Ive ever had hands down- she is funny, enthusiastic, really energetic and loves the material. She approaches Shakespeare from some incredible angles and can make anyone come to appreciate the BARD. A little tough with marking but her class is totally worth it!!

One of the best profs!! Not an easy class/marker but worth it! You always know where she is by her laugh -- she's so fun and spunky!! Great sense of humour, knows incredibly a lot about English and everything she teaches! Awesome all around -- wish I could have been in one of her classes sooner than 4th year.
