This is the best Professor I have ever taken a course with. His explanation is so clear. If anything is hard to understand, he would repeat on and on. To pass with him, you need to study on a regular basis. His exams encourage creativity.

Gives really really hard exams and midterms, and the formula sheet has almost none of the key equations you need! Also, his teaching is not clear at all. There were a lot of lectures where no one (not even the smart kids) could figure out what he was trying to teach. However he gives really nice notes packages, and his lectures are well organize

Worst teacher I've encountered at UBC. No enthusiasm and seems to really not care about students. Notes are so confusing. Does not post any lectures online, doesn't assign homework, doesn't post practice exams.

Good intentions in offering the course, but he didn't manage to provide an insight into FEM; his approach was not fundamental. Doesn't teach how to fish, neither gives you fish! Time was wasted on the first chapters. Didn't like the teaching style. One problem is that UBC students don't know much math. He doesn't like math either!!!

Horrible teaching style. Conflicting class notes. No course structure. Jumped from topic to topic. TA's were terrible. No printed notes, previous exams or textbook to study from. Unfair and long midterms(2 hours each), believe it or not, and an unfair final. Read every person's name out on the PA one at a time during the final. Ridiculous. AVOID

Terrible prof, terrible TAs. No textbook, useless and conflicting notes. Ridiculous exams. TAs mark exams arbitrarily. High workload. Students would learn the subject much better if he just gave them a textbook and told them to show up 3 months later for the final.
