Great teacher, patient and nice to students. Accent is heavy, class material is light. Exam is pure memorization. And if he thinks you deserve a high grade, he'll find ways to give you bonus marks. I'm surprised that lots of students still do worse than B.

Prof Islam is extremely helpful and patient with his students. He often times goes the extra mile in helping them. I find him to be one of the most respectable professors in this school. Yet, he is not without problems. He is eloquent, but that is only when you can ignore his heavy accent. The course itself also doesn't teach much new.

Comment:
Pointless. If you are taking 303, you need a better teacher or you will not be prepared for the 304 or the 400 levels. If you want an EASY elective then fine, but if you NEED econ classes, AVOID. He thinks the students are stupid and he dumbs everything down.

He's really easy. He teaches as slowly as he speaks and walks. He must be a very careful man. However, EASY MARKER and after midterm, you will thank him for taking really long for only chapter 4 to make sure you understand everything. Really helpful during office hour.

Absolutely useless. Should not be teaching intermediate classes...maybe even intro. He is completely full of .... and doesn't put any effort in to being concise or logical...sometimes you think he is speaking another language, and I understand Macro more than anything in Econ. LAZY, BORING...what else...

Comment:
Unbelievably poor. Arrogant - will not answer textbook questions. Incomprehensible - even if you UNDERSTAND the book and read it before class, he will confuse you with his tangents and terrible sense of logic. Unfair - his exams are so littered with mistakes that more than half the students failed his midterm. Almost started a riot.

He is an okay teacher, a bit annoying since he constantly repeats the same things over and over. The midterm was a bit hard since some questions were very specific. I would not take him if there is someone else whos better but if not take him, its not the end of the world.

Good lecturer, funny, uses good examples, but a bit arrogant and will not answer questions until the end of each section. Gave a few, vague hints about what would be on exam but they were not that helpful. Our midterm Winter 2008(and his answer key) was full of errors and ambiguities. Be sure to TYPE you assignments!

This teacher is terrible. He's difficult to understand. Worse than that, hes rude and will not answer questions until he feels like it. He also gets mad at students if they ask anything about the textbook. His tests were unfairly difficult and poorly worded. STAY AWAY!

He is not the best teacher but he is very fair. The multiple choice questions are very tricky but he will give hints on the material that will be covered on the final. If you show him that you are working hard, he will give you a good grade. Read the book !!
