try to avoid. does not use D2L so attendance is a must. not a great teacher. the course feels very disorganized and is hard to follow. does simple examples in class that are not similar to quizzes or exams. online assignments and quizzes are the worst - they'll hurt your grade. textbook is required and quite useful. final exam is difficult.

Mohinder only teaches basic examples and 4/5 of our online assignments were supposed to be due before he even taught the material meaning in our last week of class we had to do 2 assignments and a quiz because he was so far behind. He gives no practice material for midterms or exams. Taught the course to myself.

Grewal is good at teaching the basic concepts of the course; however, he provides little or no practise material in order to prepare for the midterm and final. His in class examples were always basic and had little correlation to the ones in the book which made it hard to study. Expect very hard problems on the midterms unlike class examples

Fairly standard course, and Mr. Grewal does a very good job of teaching it. No complaints here except the lectures are extremely dry and boring. Stopped going and learned from the textbook myself, but the classes were definitely still useful for some! He's also very nice and approachable and occasionally pretty funny.

Dr. Grewal is a great prof. Not an easy course so if you struggle in the mathstats area go for him! Very helpful and considerate of students opinions. So thankful I took this course with him.

Grewal is a dandy prof, nice guy, he goes through everything realllly slowly so if you're someone that generally struggles with stats I'd go with him. Tests were fair, this isn't an easy course but if you put the work in and go to lectures it's not too bad.

Comment:

Sweet prof, but hard to understand his teaching. Overall average for the midterm was 50%. Communication between labs and lectures were horrible, lab instructors had to ask us what was going on in the course and what was going to be on our tests. Unless you are a very dedicated learner, beware.

He's a sweet man, but his lectures are very dry. He never replies to e-mails either. Don't bother with lab sessions unless you have a quiz. If you pay attention and keep up the work, his tests are reasonable apparently.

Pretty standard course, and Dr. Grewal goes over everything well. He as a prof, is great. The labs section of this course was pityful, don't even bother going if you don't have to do a quiz. Waste of time.

Best stats prof ever! This man is really nice, willing to help his students. If you don't get something drop by his office and he will explain. Attend EVERY class or you will find it hard! Exams were 10-15 MC and 4-5 short answer. Highly Recommend! If you are paying attention he is quite organized...

Took him because I saw he had some good reviews.. but I don't understand where they came from. He randomly writes examples on the board, and don't tell you what section they are from, etc.. Hard to follow, need 100% focus in class. Would not of passed anything only for the text book examples. If he had any format to his teaching, he MAY be better

very funny but need 100% focus in every class and constant practices. scored 50 (just pass) due to his kindness, I believe. straight-forward lab-quiz and tests. willing to consider re-weighing of grades if student performs better. a definitely recommended one. but exam made by Wong

Dr. Grewal is a fantastic professor! He truly cares about his students and this is made clear from day one! The course may seem intimidating at first glance but it is actually very easy if you do your work. He often re-uses old tests and quizzes and even puts examples (word for word) on assignments that he did in class so make sure you attend!
