Such a bad prof. Bad English, incomprehensible slides, no effort. I would give him a zero if I could. Avoid Mokhtar at all costs.

Comment:
He is all about fairness when you talk to him, but somehow he is of the most unfair profs I have seen. Very stingy with words(from the way he replies emails which is almost rude, wouldn't tell you clearly what a test covers, course website is disorganized etc) He DOES NOT speak clearly so lectures are useless. Just Horrible! Clearly doesn't care!

There's not enough characters available in this comment section to aptly critique Aboelaze. He is genuinely one of the worst teachers I've ever had, and the low amount of effort he puts into this course is disgraceful to all of the university. I strongly recommend staying as far away from anything this professor touches.

Comment:
Extremely poor communication. Notes are almost never legible, and his accent makes it hard to understand and listen to. Labs and tests are doable if you somehow manage to learn the course material almost completely independently. Only good thing is that he takes questions in lecture. Not a bad person, just a terrible teacher. Avoid if possible.

Comment:
He is knowledgeable in his areas of teaching, tests are fair, labs are well related to the course, and lab tests aren't outside of student capabilities. But he is very quite, not always the most interesting prof to listen to, and his exam wasn't evenly distributed with respect to course content. Overall, he is meh, not terrible, but not great.

His labs and assignments actually make you a better programmer. You will come out very skilled. He just doesn't know how to teach. If you're no good at programming, take with another prof asap, you won't pass. If you got through 2030 on your own and did good on the lab tests, you'll be fine in his class.

Doesn't look at code logic - only marks based on test cases. Worst lectures. Terrible communication to the class. Replies to emails with one word and sometimes creates more confusion with his answers. Possibly the worst professor in existence.

1.) PUT IN EFFORT and you are guaranteed an A, because his tests are fair. 2.) He is hard to follow in lecture, which is why people tend to lose focus and skip class. 3.) Will give you free 5% if you come to class via tophat. the quiz questions are basic. 4.) Labs are a pain in the ass but lab test is fair. Conclusion: Will not harm your GPA. Take.

His lectures are not organized and he doesn't follow textbook. To do well in this corse, try to solve all labs problems, and find online for further details on stuff he mentioned in class. Overall, he wants to cover the deliveries of the course and expects students to be independent learners.

All his slides and labs have mistakes. He seriously does not know how to teach and mumbles quietly in class. His grading is flawed. If you don't pass all of his test cases you get a 0 on the labs. His classes are long and boring .

Professor Aboelaze is a genuinely nice person. He will always be there to help you, and the level of difficulty on his tests is very fair. That being said, EECS 2021 is one of the hardest 2nd year courses so one has to keep up in order to do well.
