Greatest lecturer in the physics department. That being said, when I was new to the program, he was very intimidating. But when you prove to him that you are willing to put in the hard work, he's not so bad.

He was nice, but I would like to understand the strategy behind him completely discouraging me to apply for REUs by saying I probably wouldn't get any because I am not useful at my level of physics. Is it to see if I have the motivation to do it on my own without any encouragement? Does one need to prove themselves before they get his support?

I laugh when reading the bad reviews here. I know what types of people those are. This is not an easy professor. This is not an easy subject. If you aren't there to learn, he will sniff you out miles away and focus on students who are there to dedicate themselves, while you go home and watch Cosmos and cry while thinking about what might have been.

Took this class and absolutely lost all interest in Physics due to the teacher. I was a physics major, but changed to Chemistry because he was my phys advisor and he made me feel inferior for being a women. Worst teacher I've ever come a crossed!

Best professor I have ever had. Is not easy. Expects that you are there to learn. Does not deal with bs. If you are looking to skim through, this is not the professor for you. Excellent professor if you are looking to tap into your own potential. Office door always open, but is not afraid to send you to find the answer yourself. Excellent.

Mola is a high-caliber professor - probably the best I've ever had. He expects a lot out of his students; that is to say he expects that they are there to learn and work hard. You will work hard in his class. His lessons are in-depth and complete. He is an advocate for his department. His class will be memorable for hard-working students.

Absolutely terrible at conveying subjects clearly. Used powerpoint during lectures, which is essentially useless. Did he really think flashing a slide of equations at us would be beneficial? He had a general attitude that he thought we were all stupid and lazy. His exams are insanely hard. The high score on our second exam was a 79%.

Difficult, yes, but you'll learn soo much. He pushes you, makes you think, makes you learn. That's what school's all about. Be willing to put in the effort and time and be committed to your eductaion. One hell of a professor!

Monty is an extremely hard teacher theres no way around that but he also wants you to know the subject matter. He is a lot of fun and keeps class interesting. He is a very good teacher and he will make you better at physics. His exams are extremely tough. Expect to see problems on the exam that have a new wrinkle to them that you have never seen before. That is part of his style though, he doesn't want to you to memorize how to do problems, he wants to to be able to figure them out yourself.
