All my other math classes I got an A... this one I nearly failed. Clearly I understand math, it's this professor who is horrible. For instance, knowing how to use mathematica was not a prerequisite, so I didn't bother learning before class. That was a mistake, as literally everything done in class absolutely required an intimate knowledge of it.

He does not help you at all in class, only writes his notes on the board and thinks everyone understands. will not answer your question and his exams ARE SO DIFFICULT! i studied for hours for this class and i still got a D+. If you see his name, AVOID IT

Absolutely terrible. Once class starts, he turns his back to the class, starts writing, and doesn't stop until the end. Very hard to follow, keeps spitting useless example after useless example at you instead of actually teaching. Avoid at all costs.

Please avoid taking this Math 300 class with him. He offeres little to no explanations for what he's doing. When people ask for help he just makes them feel more dumb. "Co-seminar" is not helpful at all. Homework is challenging, quizzes and tests seem simple but are hard, he finds a way of taking away points. Very discouraging class.

Worst teacher I've ever had. I never got below a C before in my life but ended up failing this class. DO NOT TAKE. Does not actually explain the material, just writes it on the board. Does not like when you ask questions or call him out on his mistakes. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Eisenberg writes notes on the board as if he is writing a convoluted textbook. He consistently makes mistakes when working out examples and has pretty horrible hand writing. The book that he uses is also not very helpful. His exams are pretty easy, but you come out of the class with an A and absolutely no understanding of differential equations.

Difficult class and Murray breezes through material. Expect to do work, and a lot of it. That being said, it is very possible to do well if you read the book along with lectures, and do the homework. He is always available during office hours to help out with confusion, and he answers any questions in class. Just be prepared to work.

Ridiculous. He makes simple concepts complicated, likes to elevate himself over his students by using jargon that he doesn't even define. He doesn't provide guidelines for the exams or homework, which makes for pretty embarrassing averages. I don't understand how this guy got tenure.

Bad class, boring teacher. Tedious homework, geared towards complex algebra rather than calculus concespts. Dont take classes with him.

Murray is a decent professor, he really knows the material. He goes a little fast, and doesn't cover every example you get on the homework, so you have to do some self-studying through the book sometimes. overall, if you've taken a calc class before, and want to breeze by, this is the class to take. he only counts best 80% of hw and quizes anyway!

After a course-wide average for exam number two of 54 (Eisenberg is the course chair), he said we performed worse than we should have--he doesn't realize that he is as responsible to teach the material as we are to learn it. His lectures go entirely too fast and are mostly useless. He won't even turn around from the whiteboard to see a raised hand.

One of the weirdest teachers I've ever had. Homeworks are long, tedious, and difficult (he once assigned a problem to which he did not know the answer). His book is expensive and full of mistakes. His tests are challenging, but okay. Probably the easiest part of the class, actually. He requires attendance, too.

very hard professor, goes through material quite fast and tedious. sometimes there is no time to even write notes because you writes fast. also his writing is messy. try to avoid him at all cost. there are better professors out there. he is smart in math but can't really teach effectively to his students. try to avoid him.

This guy was just not an effective mathematics instructor. Lectures were no more or less effective than simply reading the book, there were kids that never went to class that did fine despite never having seen the material previously. If you're looking for a helpful understanding professor, look elsewhere.

He's mildly clear, he does alot better than verbatum text book recital. He is horrible at answering questions, he will end up getting angry and not answer you. I took trigonometry CP in senior year at highschool, got an A-, and I got an A- in his calc class. The material is easy if you're good at algebra, the text book is your friend not murray.

Murray Eisenberg is by far the worst that the Math department has to offer. He rushes classes, is unclear in his teaching and is unhelpful. Students will feel more inclined to dropping his class than actually sticking out the semester. Take him as a professor if you like failing and feeling confused!
