Love Dr. Sarwar! I was an engineering major and happened to take his class for honors credit and ended up changing my major. Really funny guy and gets the material across by being relatable.

He is a very nice man, and he is also very entertaining. But his tests are anything BUT entertaining. You WILL need to study. He gives bonus points though which help A TON. Overall, he is a good professor and does want you to understand. I would recommend him, but you actually have to work for your grade!

Sweetest, funniest man ever! That said, his teaching style was extremely difficult to follow, at least for the class I took. There's only a midterm and a final and 90% of those are from the notes, but it's hard to take notes in class because he strays off topic often and doesn't really organize what he's saying at all. He genuinely wants his students to understand the material and do well, and he makes class entertaining at least with his funny jokes, but if you don't study you WILL fail.

He is funny...but this class is not easy...does not give homework and only gives the midterm and final...so there are only 2 grades calculated for the final grade. make sure you come to class because he does send a roll around...gives bonus points but not enough to promise a c...so study study study!

The Boss, This mans personality is awesome and keeps the class lively. Has No H.W ever but has 2 big tests that are pretty hard so study in advance. But he does give alot (ridiculous) of extra points so dont worry just try hard and go to class its pretty easy. Overall loved his class , hes hilarious youll love him to.

Mostofa Sarwar is a pretty good teacher for this class, but his teaching style takes a little getting used to.(Read: Old School) He's obviously not from around here, so he does have a slight accent. Only grades are a midterm and final. As a teacher though, he tries to help students understand by using analogies, and if you study, you should be okay

Great Teacher. Very knowledable on the subject and very much cares about his students. I did not have prior interest in Geology but he really made it intersting and fun. He engaged all the students, used great anaologies to help remember difficult topics. One of the best teachers I've had!

He's a pretty good professor. His english isn't crystal clear, but after a few days you'll get used to it. He doesn't use the book that much, but when he does, it's for tables or figures. Write down everything on the board and everything he repeats, cause that'll be on the test. About the tests: there are only 2, but he gives lots of bonus point.

Great guy,terrible teacher, much better off just reading the book,Really, I didn't understand anything he was trying to tell us, until I read the book over and over, and realized the material isn't that hard. TAKE NOTES ON THE THINGS HE SAYS OVER AND OVER; that's his way of "subtly" hinting at what will be on the test.

What a funny little man, I think i cried laughing once in this class.. he makes hilarious analogies to help you understand, which somewhat help... take REALLY good notes and make flash cards because the tests are really hard.. there is only 2 and he curves a lot, but i found them to be really hard! fun class tho!!!

BEST TEACHER EVER! I loved this class. Dr. Sarwar made this class fun and easy to understand. The material covered is not easy but it does not mean he is a bad teacher! He gives good test reviews and curves the test, but I made an A without the curve. As long as you attend class and take good notes, you can pass with a good grade.

This guy has 2 kids - one that graduated from Harvard, and the other one that's there now. This is evidence to his effective teaching - you can tell he loves it. Hard to find this kind of passion these days. Class is easy if you follow 2 rules: 1. Show up for class & 2. Participate. This was an elective for me and I'm glad he taught it.

Sarwar is awesome. The material may be a little confusing sometimes, but this guy keeps the class fun with his jokes. He lectures a good bit, but he gives a good review of the test the day before. If you can, take him. Two tests-midterm and a final. That's it.

I took this class after reading reviews here. Bad idea. He's a nice guy, but his class has absolutely no structure. I'm an A student and I have no clue as to what he is talking about half the time. What he writes on the board is random, and most people don't know what's going on either. Just 2 exams: mid and final. And I'm still lost.
