My section were Goch's guinea pigs for his foray into teaching contracts this year. He rambles, but the notes he sends you are decent, and he doesn't cover too much material. If you go to class, don't take your laptop-listening to him and taking notes without going on MSN will actually help you learn the material. One of the nicest profs at UNB.

Yes,he is boring. However, he loves to teach. Just pick up on a few points (patriarchy, relevance, Singer's theory - for each class as I listed them above) and harp the hell out of them on the exam. Repeat yourself as much as you want. Tell him what he told you in class, not what you think. Or relate what you think to what he told you.

Completely without structure,not even capable of giving a correct answer,and you gotta love his indefensible "Its just the general feel I got from your assignment" marking scheme.I guarantee the saying "those who can't do-teach" was inspires solely by this man. By far my favorite prof at UNBLaw. He is definitely NOT the cookie cutter law professor, but I have learned more from this man than all the rest added together.Has a tendency to ramble. Very approachable,fair and down to earth.If you're not able to think outside the box, you might want to avoid him.

I can relate to wanting to gnaw your arm off during his lectures. His view of the world is decidedly "soft focus" and his lectures are rambling and repetitive. I often find his ideological positions naive. However, the course did have SOME interesting moments and he seems like a decent guy.

The most cogent description of Patriarchy I've ever heard. I should know: I've heard the damn thing about four million times. But seriously, the man is good. I suspect it's difficult for law students with limited experience with social theory to appreciate. Overall, the course is good as well.

I think the fact that he is very Philosphical/Logical is a great thing. He taught the entire course by explaining the PURPOSE of the laws, not just what they were. I don't know how you'd teach this class any better.
