PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM! Took Global Networking Technology with Prof. Shin and it was horrible! Shin is very nice and ready to help with hw, but the lecture is a disaster! He never explains numbers (and c'mon, numbers is a huge part of the class). If you take him, exam questions quiz questions; don't even try to read the book; good luck

Professor Namchul is one of those professors that actually cares about his students. Databases are not an easy subject and the way he organizes the course, creates an environment for you to learn and retain as much as possible without overly burdening you. Definitely Recommended!

Class is a bit boring but explains lessons very well. One has to really do homework and practice a lot of exercises to get good grades in the exams. Also, join a good group because group projects amount to like 20% of the grade.

Professor Shin has a heavy accent and this class is really boring. But when he gives homework and tests and actually grades pretty easily which helps your grade. Also there is one group project and make sure you have GOOD members or you will struggle with the project

I could not understand most of the things that he said, he lectures directly from the text book, started out writing on the board, ended class showing powerpoint presentations on the board. We had one lab class, which was taught at the speed of light. if you can take a diff. prof, I would recommend it.

He has noooo idea of what he's talking about half the time. Would have no clue what to do in the labs w/out his precious "cheat sheets." Have to ask him to post pwrpt on Bb, which he does 10 min b4 the next class. Don't go w/ big ideas for the project, he'll only nitpick on stupid little points.

Although because of his accent, it was hard to understand him sometimes. He always posted his PP and wrote some of the notes. Study the notes and you will do fine. Don't try to read the book. Going to the comp lab helps also. you also learn alot about E-R diagrams. Don't worry...take the class

Excellent prof. Though it's kinda hard to understand him when he talk sometimes. Other than that, he is very helpful. He also let's you talk the final before the scheduled day. The tests aren't that difficult either. Just make sure you know everything on those review sheets and you're fine.

All you do is copy notes eh? Hey I rather do that than have him use powerpoint slides. He actually cares about the students though. IF you don't like him using powerpoint slides, talk to him and he'll listen. I did that for IS 351 and he listened.

Needs subtitles with his class. Not very helpful, did all the learning from reading text book. all you do is copy copy copy straight for 2 hours from the what puts up on the board. avoid if possible. just a boring class with a professor who can't teach.
