I liked Nan and enjoyed her class. Yes, she is a little spacey at times but overall she is a good professor. I ended up with an A- in the class.. Just read the chapters and show up and you're golden.

She doesn't have a clue about the biology. If you ask her a question, you are going to even more confused after. Her grading is easy, and she just reads off of the power point without actually explaining it. She is nice, but that's about the only thing going for her. Make sure to buy the book, because that's gonna be your main source of learning.

Comment:

One of the easiest teachers I've ever had. She's really mellow, chill, left lecture 30-45 minutes early more than once because she was "tired". She is super easy in lab, you can talk the answers out of her. She hes a nice lady. Gave extra credit for going to lecture. Also, her tests are worded TERRIBLY, lost a lot of points due to confusion.

Not the best professor, but not the worst either. Reads directly from powerpoint slides that you can get online anyway. Don't let her mellow lecture style fool you, her tests are not the same way. You do need to know your stuff for them. I used the book extensively, using the powerpoints as guides. Didn't feel like taking lect notes was worth it

Read off powerpoints the whole entire time and half the time she didn't understand what she wrote on the powerpoint. everytime she tried to explain it again she would just confused students more.

Not the brightest crayon in the box. Uses Liz's notes to teach so she doesnt understand the material she lectures. Most common phrase was "Um ya um ooh wait that doesnt look like that" If you are running late on a quiz day just skip and send a lie email. I should up late and she wouldnt let me take it and told me to lie next time. dropped me 10%

She's an okay teacher, great for people who don't know much about biology. She's nice, sort of. You don't need to attend the lectures to do well in her class, you just have to get the notes somehow. Tests are so easy if you bother to study the notes, or come to class.

The class itself was alright. EXPLICIT NOTES HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I found no need for the actual bio book, but the organismal bio book was a bit helpful. She tests directly from her notes. If she offers a study session, take it. She's a bit absentminded, but if you attend every class and get every scrap of notes, you'll breeze through. Good luck!

Terrible teacher. Can't teach at all. She doesn't make sense. She should be the one in the class. Maybe she would learn something. Her stupid notes contradict the book. She doesn't know nothing about what she supposed to be teaching. STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! The least intelligent teacher I've ever had in college elementary and high school.

Don't buy the book; you'll never use it. (She contradicts the book frequently anyway.) All test questions come from the notes. She's not very organized. If you're looking for an easy A, or a sweet teacher, she's it. If you want to learn (and retain) anything, forget it.

Very easy class, not a lot required. Memorize powerpoint notes and outlines and you'll ace tests. She is a nice person, but I didn't learn much. Then again, it was Bio for Non-Sci majors. If you need a science credit for Gen Ed, take her, you'll make your life easy, but if you are a science major, maybe not.

Nan Kelly penalized me for a family emergency (a death in the family). I had documented evidence, and completed the assignment, but had to turn it in late (understandably, I assumed). She refused to accept it. Avoid her at all costs!!!!
