Comment:

Truly cares about you and about the French language. Doing all the homework is a large time commitment, but worth it if you really want to learn French. Brings energy to the classroom every morning and leaves you feeling better about life. Carefully goes over material that will be on quizzes and tests. Always open to questions.

She's the best of the best teachers I've ever had. She's the inspirational kind of person and the absolutely dedicated kind of teacher. She made me love French so much. She's always there to help you with anything and willing to offer you as much time and effort as possible. Just go take her class and you'll get what I say. Inspired everyday!

She is the best professor I have had in my entire life, and that is not an understatement. She is so caring and attentive to her students, and she is very underrated. Even if you don't think you will like French, you should take her class because French 101 and 102 are the best classes I've taken at Mount Holyoke, speaking as a senior.

She is a nice person, but she thinks that french is the only class we take a semester! She gave a lot of hand-outs and she is really hard !! I wouldn't recommend her class if you don't have enough interest for French! Her workload drives you crazy if you have others thing going on.

You couldn't expect a better French Professor than Madam H-A. If you wanna learn French well take her class!It's not meant to be easy as French is not anyways. She is always there for you, super helpful both in and out of class. One of the few profs that actually care about her students! You won't regret it! She also brings french food to class ;)

I won't lie and say this class was easy because it definitely wasn't. There are quizzes and compositions every week. You can't slack off but Madame made me love French. She is the best professor I have ever had! She is amazing at teaching French and takes time to make sure all of her students succeed. She even brought us croissants for the final!

I only took her class for two weeks before she moved me to a more advanced level. She is a most devoted professor to her students, and a wonderful person on top of that. She dedicates a lot to students' individual development. Her manual was organized, and one can easily tell that she has been developing her teaching system for a long time.

She is the best!!! My classmates in high told me not to learn french because it's so hard but she makes it much more approachable!! She is so caring and funny and organized. She gives all her life to the students and she believe students can learn from mistakes. But prepare to spend 3hrs a day on it id you want to learn well because french is hard.

Nancy is by far the most incredible French teacher I have ever met, which is high praise because I am now a 20 year alum of MHC, & a French teacher myself! She's my role model & my hero. She inspired me to become a French teacher! She speaks fluent beautiful French & is incredibly intelligent & dedicated to the success & well-being of her students.

Madame Holden-Avard is by far the best professor I have ever had! She is so kind, so giving, and so so so dedicated to her students. If ever you don't understand something, she is more than willing to work with you until you do. She is so cheerful and makes even the most intimidated students feel like they can master the language. Madame is a really good prof cause she genuinely cares for every single one in the class. Very very helpful. This class seems hard at first with all the quizzes and essays every other day but once you get the hang of it, you'll do fine. Don't slack off that much and it's an easy A =)

Oh my god this class is so hard! This is intro!! I am in it now and it is sooooo much work!!! This professor is great, very sweet and organized, but it moves too fast! I get lost all the time.... I hope it gets easier. Will update if it does...
