If you don't put in the effort, this class will be hard. She's very clear on what you need to know. If you read/participate, the class will be easy for you. She gives guided notes so all her lectures have a point. Her papers are so easy if you just follow the directions. If you're looking for an easy A, its not that kind of class. take her!

Cant belive this hasnt been mentioned yet. She is the hardest grade Ive ever had, and Im a second semester senior. She is incredibly nitpicky, and her lectures are way too vague to justify it. Very little of her material applies to secondary ed, and she expects you to know exactly what something is without explaining it properly

So far at assumption she has been my favoirte professor ever! She is so helpful and easy going. Makes class fun and she is hilarious, I would take her class again in a heart beat! Community service learning was a blast! don't listen to those bad ratings, they don't no what they are talking about

She is an awesome lady and I love her class. I was not thrilled to have CSL but after it was all done I was glad I did it. Her lectures really help when your out in the field. Knows her subject area down pat. She is always willing to help.

I dont know why people didn't like her, or didn't understand her. Her english is fine, and probably more gramatically correct than the majority of students at assumption. She loves to tell stories about her boys to help explain topics, and tries to make them into funny jokes. Lots of group/interactive work. good class.

She is actually a really nice and funny professor. The class is real intersting and must have made some drastic changes. Fair-grader on everything. The observation is a pain and hates it when you need to make changes ex. like a closer school.

It is very difficult to learn English as a second lnaguage and I do not htink Professor VanderHart should eb faulted for her accent. She is passionate about her subject area and it is evident in her lessons.

The absolute worst professor I have had in my four years at Assumption. Accent aside, her lectures are unclear, vague, and unstructured. Without her overheads she wouldnt have anythign to say. She ran out of things to talk about with a month to go in the course. It was an absolute wast of time.

Of all the classes i took at assumption I hated this woman's class the most. She didn't speak English and her class was simply a waste of my time. The observation part sucked the most because she did not help us find a school to observe at.
