Its sad that someone can easily take the joy and love out of writing. His criticism is harsh and useless. It is like the blind leading the blind in a very judging way. I used to really enjoy reading and writing poems, not anymore. I wish I would have been warned before taking this class. I would do anything to be able to get my passion back.

Really smart guy, makes you want to do well, only a few short stories to read per class, and if you miss one or two, it's no big deal because you pick 16 out of 23 questions for the tests. Good sense of humor, but expects a lot. Definitely take if interested in English, but if you are just filling a requirement, maybe not...

Demands participation. One of the best teachers I've ever had. He really helps you grow as a writer, as long as you give it your best shot, take his advice, hand in stuff on time, do the re-writes that he allows (3X) and give your honest opinions about other people's writing, you will get along fine
