Comment:
His lectures aren't clear. He usually repeats the same thing several times, but you still won't understand it because it gets more and more vague. He is very strict with essay answers on tests and won't tell you what you did wrong. I used to be a Comm major but now I'm not.

A TON of work for this graduate level course. Alperstein did not demonstrate any knowledge of the topic, simply put together readings and assignments relating to the topic. No teaching is offered. Always available to answer questions. Written assignments didn't always relate to assigned readings. Big final project required.

He talks most of the class and it is necessary to take notes. He wrote the text book and it is actually easy to read and understand. His tests can be tricky but the analysis assignments are easy if you just follow what he says. Stay ontop of your work because his grading is not very clear. He is kind of boring but do the work and you'll get and A

His grading policies are not exactly clear so make sure you stay on top of that! His assignments are not clear sometimes. He is at times RUDE! And doesn't have a lesson plan and rather just talks in front of the class for the whole time!!!!

My question is, what qualifies this man to teach advertising? Pretty sure he has never stepped foot into the real world!

Comment:
I was really interested in advertising before I took this class, but he was a bore to listen to. Despite this, he does know a lot about the industry so he would be a good reference to develop. His tests are unnecessarily hard and even if you study a lot, the multiple choice questions are designed to make you fail, so good luck with that!

Kind of a dork, but he grew on me as the semester wore on. His class was sort of like reading a highly personal blog in some ways.

it's true that he is a good person to know in the industry, but as a teacher, he is a little vague and takes some getting used to...he talks in circles sometimes, but once you get to know him, neil's not so bad

The information was great. He's a huge help. If you do the work and take it seriously, it's not hard to get good grades. I learned a lot. All class information is easily accessible too.
