Comment:
McKay is a nice and brilliant man. He can sometimes be confusing or unclear, however, if you pay close attention and give him your full attention, the content is much easier to comprehend. The lon capa assignment are brutal, but beneficial even though they're only worth 3%. I found McKay to be better for 1E03(term 2 physics course) than this course

Comment:
Attendance isn't really mandatory, but you can get up to 5% bonus for going and answering questions. You will need that bonus. The lectures are alright, and some of the demonstrations are fun, but if you don't study a lot you still won't pass

Very monotone. Difficult to understand and hear if you're sitting near the back of class. Often mumbles while writing solutions on the board, making it difficult to hear him. Tests typically followed sample test format.

A decent prof, but can be difficult to understand. His demonstrations are good, but he has few available office hours.Tends to teach right from the text book, but posts his lecture slides online. Our class always seemed to be a few lectures behind the other lecture sections taught by other profs.

Good prof, teaches a lot better with a blackboard than with powerpoint in ABB 102. But that is probably true for all teachers. Things are usually clear when you focus on what he is saying. If you don't understand, he is easily approachable and you can ask for clarification.

Comment:
Dr. McKay is usually very clear in his explanations, and often breaks it down to simple mathematical concepts. However, he's not very "exciting" (read: Monotone with a capital "M"), so it's easy to fall asleep in his class unless you have coffee handy. Tests were too difficult; required too much thinking for the amount of time we were given.
