hands-down the best prof I've ever had. Every lecture was riveting (as someone who's struggled with attention problems all her life, this was a huge deal). class is always inspiring and engaging, and he makes creative use of music, films and slideshows. He cares deeply for each individual student and is a very warm, patient person.

He gives a lot of homework, but it is all applicable and interesting. He does not give busy work. As long as you get the notes and do the homework, you can miss class, but I dont know why you would want to. His lectures are amazing and its a note heavy class, so its better to be there and take your own notes.

What a phenomenal teacher! I have never enjoyed a history class in my life but he makes everything fascinating. He is so knowledgeable and really cares about the success of all his students. I recommend taking any class you can with Dr. Hohmann!!

All the classes I have taken with Dr. Hohmann were just amazing. Western Civilization, Asian Philosophy, Chinese History, History of Movie. Dr. Hohmann is definitely the best academic professor I have ever met. The lectures were with so much fun! Always contains lecture & amazing background music & pictures & notes. He always replies emails.

One of the most compassionate and caring human beings in the world. The depth and scope of lectures are incredible. If you ever get a chance to meet this man, then you will instantly fall in love with anything he teaches. Would have him be my life mentor and teach me everything he knows. Outstanding professor, outstanding character.

He really knows the material he covers, he has the most engaging and fascinating lectures, really makes the material come to life and feel totally relevant to the present... Goes out of his way to be helpful and informative. And his class is actually challenging. No txtbk. to buy.

One of the best teachers I have ever had. I only had him for one semester, but he completely changed my view of ancient history. I had his class 4 days a week at 8 am, but he made getting up worth it because his class was so interesting! Seriously, take his class He's an awesome story teller, and the soundtracks are great! Definitely recommend him!
