Comment:
Nita was a good at relaying the meat and potatoes of what we needed to know in the stories, however to really pass the class you need to learn the material for yourself. I didn't buy the books, but I still learned a lot of my own and did just fine. The material is consecutive as it usually shows up in other works of mythology.

She is a very passionate teacher, but sometimes will go off on tangents about myth which are hard to follow. Lectures can also be a bit boring.

Lectures are boring. If you do the readings, you don't need to show up. If you don't, going is slightly helpful. Quizzes in discussion class every week on readings, but spark notes will usually do the trick unless the assignment was textbook heavy. Everything is graded by TA's, so go to their office hours if you can. Easy class though

Nita gives very interesting and funny lectures. She clearly knows a lot about what she's talking about, but most assignments are done in discussion- there are quizzes every week, so make sure you do the readings!

This has probably been the best class I've ever taken. The material is interesting and the tests are easy because you get to pick which questions to answer. There is A LOT of reading and some of it is very boring or hard to comprehend, but Nita explains it all very well in lecture. I would highly recommend this class if you've never taken myth.

Nita is not an excellent professor. Her lecturing is sub-par and makes her seem unprepared. She benefits from teaching material that is fairly easy to comprehend. She is not bad, just not great.

I did not read any of the books or attend over 50% of the lectures. I still got an A- in this class. The discussions are where the real points are. Prepare for the quizzes (seriously, just sparknote it) and do the writing assignments.

Nita is very, very passionate about what she teaches. She is very accommodating, and I thought her grading standards were very clear. Lectures are not always the most interesting, but Nita has tons of real-world stories that tie into them, so they do their job. Tests are relatively easy, assuming you study. The reading is a lot, but manageable.

Professor Krevans was very passionate about her lectures. TA will grade everything and assign all of the work. Lots of reading involved with the class; the entire textbook is supposed to be read within a month and a half.

Krevans is extremely passionate about the topic, and you can see it in her lectures. If you get a chance to take a class with her, you won't regret it! Because of her, I'm pursuing Classics. The discussion sections were interesting and there were awesome field trips to art museums.

Dr. Krevans did a great job teaching her class! I felt that her tests were fair and there is a quiz every week, so as long as you do your reading you will get an easy A. She is very knowledgeable and she makes the subject interesting.

Taking this class definitely improved my insight on Greek/Roman mythology, and as someone with a pre-existing interest in the subject matter I appreciated her additional anecdotes relating greek and roman culture of the time to the literature studied. As mentioned prior, grading is all up to the TA, but Prof. Krevans does an admirable job teaching.

Nita herself is a great teacher. You can tell she really enjoys the subject that she teachers. However, all of your work is graded by the TA. My TA was a harsh grader and the grades I received reflected that.

Professor Krevans was a very fun teacher. She made funny jokes and was a great storyteller which is critical for a class about mythology. Her slides were limited so you had to take notes on what you deemed necessary. Sadly, the coursework is decided and graded by your TA completely.

UGH I hated mythology. Not my thing. Didn't want to take it in the first place. But Krevans is super interesting. She's a good story teller and if you can actually stay awake for them, she peppers the lectures with some cute jokes. How your papers are graded all depends on your TA... but the tests were ridiculously easy.
