Comment:
Nobo is hilarious! We barely did anything in lecture, everything was about the lab, which he set up perfectly and it was really fun. Lectures basically introduce the lab, so you don't need to go, however they're funny and he usually cuts it short so it's fine. In Apsc 150, this will be the one case study you actually enjoy!

One of the best professors I've had at UBC. Very friendly, knowledgeable and interesting. Really cared about whether the students were learning the material. Nobo is awesome.

Having taken 315, 316, and now 416, I guarantee you Nobo is the best prof in Civil. Nobo is full of humor, inspiring, and really keen to make the students develop their own problem analyzing skills. The materials are tough (especially 315) and require a lot of thinking. Work hard and eventually you will see your effort paid off.

Most hilarious prof I've ever had. He has a thick Japanese accent, and is completely aware of it. Class content for his lectures is pretty straight forward.

He is a really nice prof. Wants his students to learn. I haven't written the final yet but his quizzes were okay and if the class does not do well on a particular quiz, he usually has a re-quiz with the same questions he asked the first time. Over all.. Good!

Has a hard time going through a lecture without veering off-topic. Outsized ego, dis-organized. Not one of the better profs in the department. I did very well in the course, so I'm being honest.

Can be a good lecturer. Asking for help is hit and miss - catch him on a good day and he'll be approachable and helpful; on a bad day kind of a jerk. If you come across as whiny you'll definitely get the latter though.

He was the first prof for this class, and now I actually understand he wasn't all that boring like some other guys (say, from chemical or mining cases). Vivid, emotional. Had several guest speakers. Overall, his presentations were interesting. Listen to lectures carefully and take notes, cuz you really gonna need them for a quiz.

Good prof....but a little hit or miss with his lecture style. When he is good he is really good...but when he is bad he can be very confusing.
