This class is kind of out there, not like any others cmns class. I came out of it with some interesting new insights though. Norbert definately has a passion for the material and communicates it well.

The type of course is very technical. For the projects, if you tried, and it is not what he liked, you won't get a great mark. He expects a bit too much for a intro course. When I confronted him with some grades that needs to be explained, he had a very bad attitude and try to justify himself rudely.

I know Norbert, and he was thrown into the course because no one else will teach it. He only has an MA and not a Phd. He really didn't know much about it when he started. Yes, if he is late it is OK, but God forbid anyone else is!

His marking schemes are weird, the more u try the more u will fail. So basically try as little as possible.. so you will fail n e ways as well. He tries to be helpful, but when you actually asks him, he said he doesnt have time. He gets mad at people turning on the laptop too, if you are not smart.

the sound journals and overall flakiness of this course sometimes got on my nerves, but at the end of the day i found it to be very insightful for me personally and i learned alot...he's hard to please with sound journals, maybe a little odd, but nice...
