Comment:

I found Norma's BUS100 class to be very straight forward. She liked to review the information learned for usually the first third of each class which I found to be great for reinforcement. This class is connect heavy for homework however, the final is completely hand written. Practicing financial statements is a must. I would take her class again

Norma is a terrible teacher. She is unorganized and difficult to follow. She makes numerous mistakes while working through her problems on the white board. She does not motivate you to learn. Her exams are far too long, too many questions and too little time. Avoid her class if at all possible. She is the worst teacher I have experienced.

By far the worst prof I have ever had. Disorganized, confused, unclear in her directives. I would read the text and totally understand everything and then go to class and leave confused. Her tests don't reflect the material taught. I have asked for help and gotten incorrect answers. Avoid if you can.

Online class through CPA, equivalent to ACCTG 414. Totally disorganized for webinars. Spends the whole time saying "uhh, umm, uhh" in a very monotonous tone. Takes forever to go over simple concepts, then skips over more complex ones. Was not overly helpful in answering questions, unless all you required was a 1 word answer.

Worst professor I've ever had. Confuses herself and the class, she constantly makes mistakes. I wish I didn't have to take more courses with her. The book is great, and that's how I have gotten through the course so far. This is the firs time I've struggled in a course EVER. I find she is very rude and mean too. Just an awful class.

I think she is an educated person but an AWFUL teacher. She is disorganized and very unclear when teaching. She rambles and doesn't provide concrete examples or information. She expects a lot out of students even though she does nothing to prepare them. There is a severe disconnect between her teaching and our understanding. Worst teacher I've had.

One of the least organized professors I've had. Although she seems to know the material, it is difficult to follow as she does not prepare notes for class. Seems as though she would rather be somewhere else and not in front of a classroom. Expect to teach yourself the course.

Norma is the most disorganized instructor I've ever had. She doesn't prepare a lesson plan, shows up late for every class and you end up leaving more confused than when you come in. Her exams are poorly written. Dealing with her incompetence was the challenging part of the course... not the material.

By no means is Norma an easy instructor. She demands a lot from her students - meaning as a student, you must be willing to dedicate the appropriate amount of time to the course. Some of her lectures are hard to follow, but she is very good with one-on-one help and is always willing to sit down with you and help you understand. She could be better.

I liked Norma.Yes,she's a bit of a hardliner,and yes,she sometimes makes math errors on the board.She's human like the rest of us.She gives clear explanations of the accounting principles,is happy to explain questions asked in class and knows her stuff.Before exams she gives a great heads up of what will be on it to help us prepare. Has my vote.

Great, I don't know why people are saying her classes are hard (mind you I only read the first 4 comments-maybe I missed the ones that disagreed). This class was easy - and I have no previous accounting experience. The lyryx program has it's um, idiocyncracies, it's true, but I'd take that any day over more text book exercises.

She can be short with students, at times seeming to lose patience but is a very fair and reasonable teacher. Exams are time intensive but also relevant. I appreciate no surprises. Thanks Norma, you helped assure me of my choice in a career.

Very difficult class, presented very well. She cares about the result, and is passionate about accounting. Class is hard, but certainly possible, and with a LOT of work and study, an A is certainly possible, even with poor showings on the midterms. Writes one number and says another on the board.

Good teacher if you are a hard working student who actually cares about the classes. If you are looking for an "easy" teacher whose classes you can skate through, stay away from Norma.
