Very smart, and an extensive knowledge on Russian History, Friendly, but sometimes hard to follow in lectures. Exams tend to be difficult but if you study hard for them you'll do fine. An Above Average professor.

Possibly the best prof I've had in 3 years of university. Captivating, opinionated, thought-provoking, always challenges you. Great stuff. I switched my major to history afterwards.

Very nice guy, really friendly and easy to approach. I'd recommend his classes, the only thing I'd caution are his exams, they tend to be VERY difficult because they focus on very small details... so... if you are in his class, start a keyword list and pay attention to what he emphasizes in class!!!

This is guy is hilarious. He's super nice and his attitude towards the material is different from a lot of profs. He admits when he doesn't know somehting and makes a real effort to find out. Fair marker and really nice guy. Likes to pass people so if he tells you to go see him, do it.

Unbelievable, has a different opinion than most academics on major issues whichh is a nice change. Knowledgable about topics that are not part of his research. Encourages frank discussion and disdains political correctness. Recounting his personal experiences only make the class more interesting.

Fantastic! I dropped my major and switched to Rusn Hist b/c of the strength of his classes.He gets standing ovations!The 6/17/04 review is so bizarre it's almost laughable! Note: smoking before class conjures images of Stalin, Hitler, and Rusn spies!
