Paritosh is one of the sweetest profs I have ever come across (graduating fourth year DEVS). He cares about his students a ton and wants to see them succeed. Knowledgeable and tries his best to be a great prof. Heavy readings are one thing you need to look out for with Paritosh, but he makes it worth it.

Paritosh is a wonderful dude. One of the most caring and understanding professors at Queen's. The lecture material tended to be kind of dry (it was a theory course) but his midterm, essay, and final exam were all really fair. He also has this weird skill where he knows everyone's name in a class of over 100 students. He just genuinely cares.

Paritosh is a kind prof, has his students best interest at heart, has genuine interest in his subject yet his lectures are boring & he speaks in a monotone voice for 3 hours. This course is theory heavy, mandatory for DEVS students & has pop quizzes in random lectures. The TA Adam is awful, can't explain the concepts & relies on the class to carry.

Very nice guy, though his soft speaking voice makes it hard to hear his lectures. He also marked our last assignment much harder than previous assignments, but I still managed to get a good grade overall. His lectures are interesting, and I liked his assignments overall.

Comment:
Kumar's lectures weren't always the most interesting, and this is not due to the content but to his lecturing style, which was soft and passive. He didn't try too hard to always engage the class but the content that was taught really spoke volumes and could apply to various facets of life. Highly recommend!

Great professor! Very approachable in his office hours! Excellent lectures but relies on movies a lot. Tutorials are helpful in further understanding the material.

Comment:
Professor Kumar is great, but the first semester of DEVS100 is very tough. The first half of the first semester is mostly theory and it is kind of dry. Although Professor Dubinsky is more intimidating at first, the second semester has less theory, more real life application and is a lot easier overall.

He explains concepts thoroughly and is open to questions. TAs do all of the marking, and I found there was inconsistency between tutorial groups, but Paritosh's lectures were generally interesting and well spoken.

Lectures were very interesting. Paritosh is a dearly beloved by most of the people I've encountered. The reading load is pretty heavy though. His exam is fairly doable... what brings down the Devs100 mark is the term with Epprecht.

Really hard to understand- seems like he tries to make the material seem harder than it is by adding fancy words to it. Not to mention he's really annoying

Comment:
A really nice guy but displays blatant and unacceptable bias in all lectures, has an unrealistic view of the world and needs to reevalute his philosophy on life because it is not practical for the average student.
