Awesome teacher and awesome class. Would defiantly recommend. Very fair grader and gives you a chance to redo every paper with edits to raise your grade. There is a lot of reading but you can get by by skimming

Comment:

Professor Bizzell was quintessential in improving my writing skills. That aside, many days of class were not useful, and many students skipped class, something uncommon at Holy Cross. She spent laborious amounts of time analyzing only a few pages of reading; while showing us examples of good writing, this was extremely tedious.

Comment:

I was usually on the verge of falling asleep in this class, but that might have been attributed to to class starting at 3. Overall great teacher and very helpful towards your writing. Doesn't count towards the core requirements, but good for pre-med students. Class has some ESL students so easy to do well even if your writing is not that great.

Bizzell is awesome! If you want to be a great writer, take her! She is a bit of a hard grader but that will keep you motivated. She is patient and will explain things. Will look over your papers from other courses as well and she is easy to understand. Have taken her twice and the classes have been great. Go to her office hours!

Bizzell is great- the speech part of the class is very easy, and after the first speech you have everything you need to do well. The papers might kill you because the material is dry but you can re-write the first two. She will ALWAYS take time to explain anything you don't get, and is very quick to respond by email. Very flexible, an awesome prof

CRAW NONFICTION: Excellent Professor. She is a tough grader, but works with you to get the A. Extremely helpful during office hours and very approachable. Class is interactive and participation is necessary, but comes easy with the readings. Would def take another of Prof Bizzell's courses.

discussion is a must, not because she will call on you but if you don't speak up, but because it will be reflected in your grade if you don't, tough grader at first but willing to help and offers a lot of great comments on the papers, rewrites are allowed and she is very helpful in making the rewrites "A" papers, overall: a good experience
