Comment:

It's been a couple years since taking this class, but I can honestly say she is one of my favourite profs. Was my first prof, of the first day and first uni exam. It was tough as nails, but she frequently hosted group study sessions before an exam and explained key words. I listened to all her Greek tales more than I studied, but that was on me.

Comment:

Really engaging lecture, but nothing posted online. Show up to class and read the material to prep for class. Clear instructions, but low tolerance for inability to read instructions. Won't hold your hand through the class but expects you to do your assigned work on your own. Best prof I've had and I take her classes at any chance I get!

I took Greek Civ as my elective and was pleasantly surprised. Her lectures are very useful however she does not use any online sites. Exams are relatively straightforward if you study the key words that she writes on the board.

The prof is an amazing lecturer and really passionate about teaching. The fact that she hosts an Agora is proof of this. Know your stuff, study the texts carefully, take good notes, and write passionately and you'll be in fine shape. Lectures are profound events, and make up all of the course. I came out with a better grasp of Western culture

Not a good professor at all. Does not have any kind of lecture slides whatsoever. Writes in messy handwriting on the chalkboard.. if you miss one class.. good luck. She doesn't post anything on account of she doesn't use blackboard and she rarely ever answers her emails. Do NOT take her classes unless it is necessary.

One of the best professors I've had. She is clear and concise and explains things well. What she lectures on are directly from the readings. No websites or emails really, but just show up and you'll do fine, and she will help if necessary. Took this course as an elective, wasn't expecting much, was pleasantly surprised!

I have had Fagan for so many classes. She is tough as nails, but an insanely good teacher! She is especially great for mythology courses. She's brilliant and funny, and loved by those who don't mind making a serious effort in her class.

Terrible professor. Lectures can be interesting but is easily sidetracked. Extremely difficult marker, and very slow. Have been finished the class for two weeks and still have 75% of my grade unavailable. Very difficult to reach - no online site, reached only by email (to which she mostly does not respond) or phone.

She was my first prof, first day of University and I couldn't have been more eager to return after that class. I learned a lot about Latin itself and about grammar in general.She marks hard and her exams are killer, but it just serves to make you really work for the mark. Also, very understanding if you pay attention and get your work done.

Spent way too much time talking about Ovid, had to read his whole book, another book and the text book. An absurd amount of reading for a intro to Roman class. My most difficult class I have taken to date. Only take if you love reading.

She's is probably the funniest prof I've ever had. I had her for intro Latin, and even though it's kind of tough I'm taking the second Latin course mostly to have her again. She's really nice, great at explaining things clearly and concisely, and overall just makes class pretty fun to go to.

She's a great prof, truly. Readings for this course are necessary, but she makes the subject extremely fun. I had her for GrkCiv and she was the same. Passionate and HILARIOUS. I laughed in every class. She's a hard marker, yes, but do your work and you'll be fine. Also, she is very fashionable, which is always a nice thing to see.

Teacher is really into what she teaches, but she is very boring and dry. If you take notes and read everything daily then you will do fine. Her midterm was stupidly hard and her exam is just as bad. Very tough marker. Don't bother trying to meet people in that class because she yells at people to stop talking constantly.

I've never worked so hard in a class, and I've never gotten so much out of a class. The way she challenges you to interpret the readings makes you SO engaged in the material. Take notes in class and study in a group for the tests

Maybe the hardest marker I've yet to come across; her mid terms were hard and exam was even harder. Her lectures, on the other hand, were very clear and useful. You could easily pass the class with a descent mark without reading the textbook but you better take some killer notes.

Tests were very unfair. Questions on things which seemed totally unrelated and irrelevent, things that no one would think to study. Unless you're really good at memorizing an insane amount of names and dates, avoid this class.

Hard Marker. Recommended. She cares about what she's saying, and she knows her material. You will be exhausted by the end of every class, and then surprised that you're not actually in Rome, outside of the classroom. Clever. Interesting. Clear, skilled lecturer. Her lectures are stimulating. Her genius makes her sexy. Thanks!

Took this class a few years ago and was very disappointed with the grading. The classes were somewhat interesting. Tests didn't seem to correspond properly to what was learned in class or in the textbook and were always marked outrageously. Not recommended
