He is honestly one of the coolest teachers ever, he really cares about your work and if you talk to him, he will take the time. I almost never rate teachers, but he is one of the best! I hope I can take another class with him again!

I am so grateful to have taken this class with Professor Chavez. His vast array of experiential knowledge and excitement really inspired me. He is very clear and truly wants the best for his students. I honestly can say this class has changed my life drastically, and for the better. I doubt that would have happened if I had had another professor.

He is a good photographer but isn't cut out to be a teacher. He doesn't take time to explain assignments and assumes students know what to do already. He can sometimes talk down to students if they ask questions, too. The class ended up being about quantity rather than quality. To get an A, triple check on due dates, do all assignments, and do EC.

Patricio is a great teacher. He is a bit soft spoken, so sit up front in his class!! He will always answer questions honestly, and explain his answers. He is mysterious, and a little tough to read, but overall I learned a lot from him!

Patricio was the best possible teacher to introduce someone to photography, he wants you to be edgey so right off the bat you learn not to hold back, he is a little mysterious i suppose but i think its because he wants you to find your own style instead of him telling you your style

I think the most important quality a teacher should have is respect for students, especially when there is critiquing of ones' own art in class. Mr. Chavez has alot of respect in that way and gives his critiques in a very nice and friendly manner. If he seems uptight it's probably because he's been doing the same job for awhile now but he definatel

Amazingly well accredited & experienced in the field of photography but horrible teacher. Unless you've alrady taken an introductory course to B&W photography pick a different instructor. Gives 3 months of material in one reading assignment and then expects you to know it. Long mand. 6hr labs w/ little instruction/knowledge gained.
