Comment:
Patrick's skill for giving lectures comes naturally with his evident passion and drive to communicate a message; he isn't rigidly following a syllabus, he's just having a conversation with the room. Very enjoyable course, and an ideal way to learn. The assessments were more a formality than a challenge. The course was refreshing and stimulating.

GPA booster if you put in a bit of effort. His TA's really carry the class. His lectures are about 50% him and 50% guest speakers. 4 projects - the last is a big group project which was a bit overwhelming (especially when its worth more than your final). All in all a good class that covers some really interesting material

Super interesting class. Lots of guest speakers which is cool, but I wish we could have had more Condon lectures since sometimes the guest speakers were meh. The two-hour tutorials, although a little boring, gave me a chance to form a network of friends in class.

Exciting class with good guest lectures, tutorials were really long and repetitive but pretty mandatory. Condon makes lectures interesting even if he is brainwashing us a bit. cool guy, i would definitely take another course with him..

Students complain about Patrick being monotone and sometimes redundant but you can find some gems of dark humor out of this guy that make it all worth it. Awesome guest lecturers. Class makes you feel bad for his TA's who carry a lot of the weight while remaining extremely supportive. Oh, and I hope you like streetcars.

Patrick is one of those few fantastic professors. Yes, he IS quite opinionated and slightly monotone, but he continuously acknowledges that and he invites a guest speaker almost every week. He honestly cares about students and is always really friendly and genuine, and makes himself available to students. Without a doubt my favorite prof & class!

Patrick is one of the rare professors at UBC who actually cares how he teaches. It says a lot when he asks students to let him know if he's sounding boring or not and to specifically refer us to comment on RMP. I enjoyed his humour and relevance of the course material that made me look at cities in a completely different way. Great class.

This class is really set up well, it's well planned out with a variety of lectures and guest speakers. The material is really interesting and easy to relate to. The assignments are challenging and hands on but they really set you up for success. I really enjoyed this class, Patrick Condon is a fun prof to learn from.

My favourite prof I've had at UBC. The course itself is a "must take". It'll change the way you use and interact with the city, and Patrick is obviously passionate in the material. Very approachable and funny! Classes are usually later in the day, but well worth the effort!

I found the content dry and the lectures as well. The assignments were fairly straight forward and simply. You must attend all the lecture and tutorials because a lot of the content on the exams were from lectures and guest lectures. Exams were very specific and challenging . But overall this course relates to the real world.

Great introduction to sustainable design methods and Landscape Architecture! The course combines ideas in the textbook with supplemental guest lectures, alongside a handful of assignments. I'd highly recommend it to those interested in design, as well as general students who are looking for solid elective course.

It's obvious that Patrick has a deep knowledge of the many overlapping disciplines that comprise ENDS. I enjoyed his dry sense of humour. The "7 Rules" framework makes the subject approachable (broken down into bite sized pieces). Lectures were reinforced/repeated in readings but the guest speakers were great for adding new depth.
