I absolutely loved this logic class with him. Must come to class, and nightly homework assignments but they are super easy if you just pay attention. Would definitely take again!!!!

Rardin is a very funny guy, which makes lectures interesting. He cares about each student passing his class. Exams seem daunting at first, but if you have been coming to class every day they aren't bad at all. Not too harsh of a grader, but he wont just give you a good grade if you didnt earn it. I would totally take him again.

I made an A in both logic courses taught by Rardin. As first, Dr. Rardin and I were on friendly terms. We both love logic. But it is important to note, however, that he can "grade the student" if he developed a disliking for you, as he did for me (I questioned him in class). Although he grades logic tests fairly, he may not do so for term papers.

Rardin was a quirky old man, who is very knowledgeable about a lot of different aspects of philosophy. The class wasn't hard, no homework besides reading really, and his classes are entertaining. Good sense of humor if you're not a sensitive little angel. Material is difficult to understand, but office hours are a godsend- he helped me out more.

Overall the material isn't too terribly difficult, you just have to apply yourself. Rardin on the other hand will only explain things his way and if you do not understand it then you are screwed. He is extremely proud and sometimes treats students like they are imbeciles, but he doesn't wish failure on any of his students. Take caution with course

This course is NOT for everyone. I took this course because I thought it would improve my critical thinking skills. I wish I could say it did, but it didn't. For some reason I find Professor Rardin to be insensitive, which in my opinion, affects his teaching. There are things in his class that I comprehended but 75% of the material didn't stick!

Rardin is a quirky dude and Logic 1 was pretty challenging. Homework every class but only took 5-10 mins each time. I got a tutor for the last chapter but the rest was mostly math oriented. If you are engaged in class and do the homework, you will probably be fine, but he made me want to work hard so I would recommend.

He obviously loved philosophy but I didn't understand a single thing he said the whole semester. Super kind guy and puts a lot of effort in but he doesn't explain the topic very well. Class always went to the end of the time. We only had a few in class writings for the semester and he basically gave us the answers before hand but I didnt learn much

He does an amazing job of explaining a class that is almost impossible to try explaining to anyone else. He definitely knows what he's talking about and explains everything pretty organized. If you're into philosophy, this is a great class. 3 large tests, 100 points each. 30 homework assignments, 1 point each. grade is out of 330 points. Take him!!

Rardin really knows what he's teaching, he's just sometimes scatterbrained and doesn't know how to explain it clearly. The first half of the semester was really easy, and I could catch on easily, but the second half when proofs began it was all down hill from there. It is unlike any class I have ever taken. Avoid if possible.

He definitely cares about the subject, but doesn't explain clearly. If you have a question he answers it with another question. His notes are not very coherent on the board, but he does post summarys online. In short, good guy, confusing, and struggles with turning on the projector whenever he uses it.

Very hard material. Lots of memorizing. Don't ever answer a question with "is it...?" he'll interrupt and taunt you. He's intelligent &very crazy. He takes off partial credit if you do something wrong, even if you got the answer right. He doesn't try to trick you on tests and makes them as easy as possible. However, can be somewhat condescending.

Some of my favorite memories of my time at ASU are watching Rardin troll the idiots in his class. He's not condescending, just has no tolerance for the lazy. I had to ask him for help many times, he was not condescending he just wants you to put in the work. He helped me but didn't hold my hand, and that's what a teacher SHOULD be like. 10/10

Seems like people have more of an issue with the material than Rardin himself, though I found his organization of content easy to follow every class. I think Rardin is funny, but he's also kooky. Attend class and do homework/a little extra practice (especially before tests) and you should be fine. Not condescending imo, just knowledgeable.

Not everyone can master the skill of memorization of so many rules in a 16 week semester. Rardin doesn't care. The only way he will help you is if you can prove you have all of the "rules" memorized. Unfortunately, he's the only one who teaches this class, so good luck. This is a nightmare., not just saying it because I failed. I'm an A student.

Dr. Rardin is quirky and condescending. He'll take any opportunity to interrupt your question or response and then proceed to explain in detail what your error was. His voice can be grating on the ears. But if you tolerate his personality, he knows what he's talking about and he explains things incredibly clearly. Technologically inept.

Definitely a quirky guy, and its true that he may belittle you a bit. But he is super intelligent, and the class isnt THAT hard. He typically makes the homework hard so that the tests are easy. He is super interesting, and if you want to get on his good side, bring up cycling. Hes an avid bike rider.
