Regan is by far the most qualified teacher at Binghamton. However, he's extremely unhelpful and will go out of his way to make your life miserable. His lectures are often a bore and best of all, his tests are online!GPA is really up to you, study, read, and work hard and youll get at least a B. Or just cheat on the final and midterm...hell never know

Professor Regan is the best! He really cares about his students and will help you to the best of his ability. In addition to this, he makes everything very clear for the tests. The only stressful part of was the paper because there were no real qualifications aside from the need to utilize empirical evidence. I highly recommend this class.

If you want to have a good GPA, don't take his class. He is extremely unfair when coming to tests.

This class is impossible. he forces you to read the textbook for hours a week and then doesn't even mention it in class. He rambles on and on about nonsense and then forces you to know it for exams. He also always talks about cheating but lets you take the exam in your dorm room. This guy has issues.

NEVER TAKE HIS COURSE! In my 4 years at Binghamton University, I have never had a worst professor. Patrick never acknowledged my input in class discussions, always acknowledged my absences and held missed assignments over my head. Unorganized course and words his syllabus to give students basically any grade he wants. NEVER TAKE HIS COURSE!!!

When I first started the class i thought i would be interested right off the bat and to a certain extent i still am. However, useless lecture notes which he states are things he makes up, terrible guidelines for the paper that didn't make sense, and sometimes disrespectful when asking for help. I got a B but hes full of it... avoid him at all cost

Certainly a bright professor, but lecture can get a bit boring. He speaks about his own life far more than what is required in the course, which is a double edged sword. The key is to simply enjoy the lecture without worrying too much about notes, and to focus on the text for studying, especially the beginning few chapters.

Full of himself but at least he did the research to back up his claims. Doesn't really follow a "text-book curriculum" but rather makes students think about issues in world politics and international relations. I learned a lot in this class and developed a passion and understanding of the subject. Some people like him, some don't.

Decent enough. A wee bit scattered but interesting enough. Openly biased to the left but doesn't let it effect grading unlike other poli-sci profs.

ABSOLUTELY terrible. hes the biggest jerk i ever met. I went to his office hourse to speak to him about our midterm. he shut me down. was far from helpful. hes biased and is obsessed with preventing cheating. you can take the tests on blackboard but you get exactly 1 hour, you cant go back, and if blackboard fails to work, u fail too..

Avoid if possible. He is one of those teachers that makes you buy a book he wrote and read it, but there is no point to read it because he doesn't ask questions about it. He goes out of his way to try to catch people cheating. He is more worried about catching cheaters than teaching well.

this is why tenure is a bad thing -- he says whatever he wants and gets away with it! he swears and says terrible, dirty things and continues to teach. he is biased, and a jerk. It's awful that for PLSC majors his class is mandatory. I feel your pain, poli sci majors. Just grin and sit through it. Bring your laptops if you can!

Regan is the best professor Bing has to offer. Genius in his own right (who else gets called by the World Bank before they invest in a civil war ridden third world country?). Yes, he can be a hard ass, but it builds character. Shut up with your excuses, stop whining about actually having to do work, & enjoy actually learning something from the man.

He's a pretty good professor and loves when students show interests in his lectures. He's pretty upfront and although the class didn't provide a lot of work,do it all and you are fine. Be sure to take advantage of all resources. He's straightforward and friendly but doesn't tolerate bull. I wouldn't mind taking another class with him again =)

He's not a mind-blowing Professor, but he's pretty cool. He gives reading, but welcome to college, kids. As for his tests, they absolutely test what you learn in class because you're supposed to explain and apply the concepts you've learned. Re: quizzes - they're just for attendance and not erroneous - NASA did bomb the moon to look for water.

the guy who said this is treated like an upper level course clearly has never taken an upper level course. there is very little work for this class. one 5-7 page paper and two easy online tests.

The class is treated like an upper level course, and although some topics are interesting, the paper and tests do not relate to lectures. Purchasing HIS book is a waste of money, it's just another reason for him to be able to reference himself as a scholarly source in class. It is not difficult class, just boring, and pointless.

worse professor i have ever had. He is arrogant and and shuts down others ideas. His lectures are extremely boring and test are not hard but hard to take because he is so obsessed with cheeting. The test book and book, he has written himself, are useless for the course because he gives you articles online to read.
