Zettel is a good dude. Really nice guy. Clear, awesome lectures. Only four tests, no out of class assignments (for marks, anyways. Do your translations or you'll get wrecked on the tests). Old English is a silly obscure field but he's done a lot of cool stuff in it and he can teach you a lot.

Comment:

Outstanding lecturer. If you want to learn Old English, Dr. Zettel is the man to teach it to you. Very personal and learns the names of everyone, even in a class of 40+. However, the material by nature is difficult, and to make matters worse, his tests are unexpectedly hard. Still, a great prof - recommended for serious students.

zettle is amazing! probably my favorite prof. this class was nice because we only had some 13 people and it was really relaxed. the tests this term were more difficult but the seminars were fun.

He's kind and very helpful. Doesn't take attendance but go to the lecturs as the tests are 90% based on lecture material. Expects students to give a lot of info in 1h tests. Knows his stuff. Do the translations! Make sure you know the cases and pay attention to your grammar on the tests-Appostrophes and spelling count! Overall an awesome professor.

WOW! Zettel is the GREATEST prof around! His lectures are interesting and informative and he is SOOO helpful should you have any difficulty- he even gives you his home phone number incase you need to contact him outside of class! Such a sweet guy! Highly recommend his class! You can get an awesome mark if you work hard....

Prof Zettel is the sweetest, kindest professor around. He understands that his course can be challenging for some people and does his best to help you succeed. If you do the reading and translations and prepare for the tests you can get a really good mark. I wish he taught more than just the one class- interesting and clear lecturer.

Prof. Zettel does his best to make a dry subject interesting. His repetition of important points is extremely helpful. There are a lot of people whining about how hard this course is, but if you do the translations and study for tests it's possible to pull of an amazing mark (89 thank you very much). Oh and the final exam is optional

This prof is super nice & totally willing to help. A hard marker on exams though; very picky. This course is not as difficult as people say. You're not learning the lang, but just a few grammar points and mostly history of Ol' Eng. Funny:He asks what u thought of the exam & doesnt listen to ur ans

This class is difficult. Professor Zettel is a great professor, but Old English is extremely difficult to learn. Not only is it very boring, but very difficult. Not a fun class at all. BEWARE to all future takers of this class.
