HON202WI is the most amazing class I have ever taken. Patty is so passionate about the material and cares so immensely for all of her students that it is hard not to do well in her class. She is kind and funny and a fair grader. Highly recommend!

I took Patty for a film class, and all we did was watch movies, and later have a discussion. The class was mostly hard because she is a very tough grader and we only turned in minimal assignments. Besides that, she's an enjoyable professor and understands that we're college students and we have lives too, so she doesn't mind if you skip.

Patty was one of my favorite professors last semester, and had one of the most interesting courses I have ever taken. I took this class for the UP and didn't expect much from it. However, I found myself learning more week after week, even in the three hour class frame.

I didn't understand her communication style. When students answered correctly to her questions, she would correct them with the same exact information. It was very uncomfortable . I didn't like the way she taught the electronic media criticism class. She used irrelevant material to teach critical appraisal of mass communications systems.

Patty was an amazing professor for my first year honors seminar. I am normally not an artistic person, but she made me enjoy and appreciate cinema. You can tell she loves her students and loves what she's teaching. Attend and participate and class and put effort into the papers and the class will be very enjoyable.

I had Patty for the Honors Cinema Censorship seminar, and she was absolutely fantastic. It is easy to see that she really loves what she 's teaching and cares about her students. We all had a blast while learning a lot. I can honestly say that it was my favorite class of the semester, and I will be doing everything I can to have her again.

Patty's 527 class is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in film. Class is well paced with lecture and discussion followed by film viewing. She incorporates power point incredibly well in her lectures. Attendance is important for understanding tests and quizzes, which are clear cut and short. I had a great time in her class!

Patty is awesome. Uses ppts for her lectures and shows the film. Usually likes to discuss the class' thoughts on it as well. 5 quizzes in class - you miss them, oh well. They are SO easy too. 1 major essay which is 30% of your grade and 2 tests. Almost always available to help as well. Have had 2 classes with her, and I'd take her again if I could!

I loved this class. Honestly thought it was much easier than 311. There are only for grades: midterm, final, and two big projects (radio and TV promotional campaigns) so not much room for error. Patty is really helpful and teaches you everything you need to know about promotions. She is a fair grader though I was able to get an A-

Very strict. Tough Grader. When you write papers, write to her style and her style only. She doesn't care about how you like to write, her way or you get a low grade. She needs to open up more about how each person learns and writes. Is a smart prof. but, needs to get on students level.

A PT Anderson film course; She has a laid back demeanor yet has strict guidelines you have to follow. Adult subject matter was handled in a humorous and mature fashion. Learned a lot about a director's life and style I knew little about. Looking very forward to the Lynch films class with her next semester.

nice lady, I just didn't like her style. Was laid back most semester and then gave us a crazy hard final. I don't have a problem with tough classes, but I prefer consistency. Had her twice, same both times.

Patty is an excellent prof. Whoever says she doesn't know what she's talking about or only talks about production was obviously just a fanboy in the class. She is extremely knowledgeable, fun, very helpful, and works hard to make everything clear. I've had her for 503 and multiple film classes and have always had fun and done well in her classes.

Patty is a nice lady and well educated in her field. The lectures can be long & tedious, so be ready to write several pages of notes each week. The papers for 503 can be rough, so my advice is to be as DETAILED as possible. The more you write, the better your grade will be. Don't bother buying the book; everything you need to study is in the notes!

The class was a director's study on Tarantino/Fincher. She knew little about cinema studies, her lectures were about the business side of cinema rather than the artform. You can really tell her career prior to teaching was in radio because she looks at everything from the production side. Do Not Take Patty for a director's study!!!!
