Great professor. He really challenges students to think critically and understand the material. I visited his office hours many times and he was super helpful (the key is to ask for help). If you're respectful and show that you are interested in learning the material,you will do great in his class.

Had him as my core prof. Worked us really hard, but we got a lot out of it. Core is mandatory freshman class and can be terrible, but our core class was fantastic. Good oral final exams. Fair assessments during the year. Very good.

I was considering being a Poly Sci major...but he is such a liberal ideologue that it was difficult to discuss anything in class. I just shut-up after awhile so I woudn't become an outcast. The work was hard and he is a tough graded which is OK, but I couldn't overcome the bias. He really shouldn't be teaching, he should be working for the DNC.

Challenges students to think past easy answers and biases and develop nuanced theoretical understandings of political issues. Has very high expectations for papers and assigns a mountain of reading but very helpful and approachable. Awesome engaging discussions, one of Whitman's best.
