If you are a very passionnate english major and are not afraid of challenging classes, you will absolutely adore him. If you are not particularly interested in literature and have him for lower-level english classes, you will probably not, as he is quite demanding. He is very intelligent, extremely interesting, and a pleasure to be around.

A brilliant prof. Very well-spoken, incredibly well-read, engaging, inspiring. Yes, he was tough at times, but that's a good thing. He encouraged creativity and was passionate about his subject matter. My university experience would not have been the same without him.

At first, everything was going so smoothly. His class made me incredibly interested in the poetry we discussed. He's a very intelligent man, but not particularly fair in marking. Be prepared to EXACTLY what he wants in EXACTLY the way he wants.

Yes he's strict, yes he has us work hard, isn't this university? I want to be challenged (NERD)! Made me love poetry and literature in general. I'd go as far as calling my mentor. So there.

Well, he knows his stuff, but is probably one of the worst teachers i've ever had. Doesn't seem to care about his students at all, and has no problem with tearing you apart if he feels like it. Never argue with him, and never present ideas that differ from his own. You will always be wrong.

Mr. Curtis is a wonderful prof; VERY, VERY intelligent. He tries to encourage his students to think for themselves and to clearly express their thoughts. His classes are challenging, with a lot of reading involved, but great!
